Just resharing the image so I can add readable alt text for you (couldn’t see the slide well enough to read it on my phone).

Honestly, consider the chaos of my workroom for a moment. Now do you truly think I’m not capable of messing my environment up just by being in it? 🤣

Add in 14 hours for Te Ika A Maui and that’s a solid 29 hours of driving. Except you’d also need to add approximately 3 hours of driving and 4 hours of ferry to get between the southernmost point of the NI and the northernmost point of SI. We’re far bigger than people realise.
Apple Maps showing the route from Cape Pallisser to Cape Reinga. The travel time is 14 hours and 2 minutes, almost entirely using SH1 apart from a section along the East Coast in Northland.

Um, what has happened to alt text? I’m assuming this is an update that didn’t get an accessibility eye run over it first? Now both the text in the image and the alt text that is overlaid over it in a transparent text box are both too difficult for me to read. @bsky.app
A screen shot of an image of black text in a white background. The poster kindly added alt text, but instead of appearing below the image as it used to, it is now white text on a transparent grey overlay, which means the alt text is now also impossible to read, as there is not enough contrast, and the text from the image and the alt text are all visually tangled up.

I’m not a fan of things being passed under urgency, but I think I’d be ok if they wanted to do it for this Bill, all things considered. Article is from RNZ: www.rnz.co.nz/news/world/5...

ACT MP Laura McClure's member's bill to criminalise non-consensual sexually explicit deepfakes was pulled from the ballot last year and will be
considered by Parliament in the future.
McClure said while she was horrified by deepfakes,
she did not feel X should be targeted.

Just updating some settings in LinkedIn (AI gen, I'm looking at you) when I came across this. I am laughing. Like, we literally searched for 18 months to find the most affordable, liveable house we could, and we're still living there 18 years later. The last time I got "Promoted" was 2005.

This was our place, mid 80s, I think a couple of years after we moved there. The goat is probably 2/3-1/2 way down the property. It really was quite lush by the time they’d been there 10 years, albeit still ramshackle. The orchard was great by the time it was sold, unfortunately torn out. 😢
Two photos from where I grew up. In the top photo, the step down to the patio from a glass sliding door is covered with pumpkins and marrows. In the background is a kind of glasshouse made from the original windows from the house, which included some lead lights.
The second photo looks down a paddock towards a 1930s bungalow. There is a Saanen Dairy goat tethered in the foreground, ramshackle chicken coop in the mid distance, and gorse growing along the road boundary.

I still have the flowers made up, they live on my sideboard. Every time I see them, they are a reminder to me of kindness. I’ve learnt a lot about kindness these last few years. Mostly I’ve learnt that when people are kind to you, it makes you want to be like them.

These are the two most cherished in my collection, gifts from my father to my mother before they married… he obviously had some ideas about being kept in the manner to which he would like to be accustomed. 🤣 She was 18 when she received these, one for Christmas, one a couple of weeks later.
Two A5ish volumes from the 1950s, both covers are red: one burgundy, one claret. An illustration is picked out in gold, on one it is a fashionable lady retrieving something from the oven, on the other she is playing cocktail party hostess. The spines of the books. One is titled The Reluctant Hostess, the other is The Reluctant Cook. Both are by Ethelind Fearon. Inside the front covers, each book has an illustration by Alex Jardine. In The Reluctant Cook, a couple are lounging in armchairs looking satiated after dinner. In The Reluctant Hostess, a hostess with the mostest is carrying a tray of refreshments towards her guests, all in cocktail attire.

Part day sick
The Holidays Act 2003 describes sick leave entitlement in terms of days, and doesn't divide it into part days or hours. This means that if an employee works for part of the day and then goes home sick, this may be counted as using a whole day of sick leave, no matter how much of the day they worked before going home.
However, the employee and employer can agree to describe the entitlement as hours or part days if this is better for the employee. For example, if an employee worked a half day then went home sick, their employer could agree to only deduct a half day of sick leave. Payment for th half sick leave day would be half of th
