Discourse on ‘antisemitism’ in Canada and the US has reached a fever pitch. But, when you dig into the substance of the claims, it becomes clear that what is really being denounced is critique of genocide and antizionism. The CASE report is a paradigmatic example.

Utter travesty - and indicative of how the NCAA and universities exploit international student-athletes & then abandon them in their moment of need The onus for maintaining the status of international student-athletes belongs to the NCAA and universities, not individual students #FreeAminataSeck
theguardian.com
ICE has abducted a college athlete. What are the NCAA and universities going to do about it?
Aminata Seck’s detention shows the bargain facing international college athletes: universities eagerly recruit them, but support can disappear when their immigration status becomes precarious.

The NCAA would be an example of the sort of group that, with a little collective action, could turn the tide of history a bit here. Especially with the election so close.

Infuriating story that @nkalamb.bsky.social, @derekcrim.bsky.social, & Simran Kaur Sethi unfurl with attention to how colleges are complicit in putting international students in danger. Destabilizing student visa process creates more detentions. That’s not disorganization. That’s design.

This is completely depraved. Robert Krafts abound.
Hearing from several sources around Ireland hotel that agents are telling players you must play our you'll never play for a US owned team in the UK.

How grim and predictable from faceless agents who profit in the background.

Always enjoy hearing from the fans.
Dear Mr Lamb:

I read your article in the Guardian this morning about Ms. Seck written with two other colleagues. First of all, the headline seems to be intentionally very inflammatory. Ms Seck was arrested, not abducted. Secondly, what the NCAA and universities should do is to work closely with their foreign athletes and ensure that their paperwork is in order. So unless you are accusing the government of lying, Ms. Seck has been under a final deportation order since 8 September 2025 for failure to comply with the requirements of her visa. This seems like more than “a paperwork situation” as stated by her attorney. It seems everybody has an excuse and is a portraying themselves as a victim. Anyone here in a visa of any kind should be aware of the heightened enforcement environment and take extra care to ensure that their paperwork is in order. Take some personal responsibility and don’t blame others. I am very supportive of people
who come to the US legally and follow the rules. We are a nation of laws, if you don’t follow them you must leave.

As an aside, when trying to find your contact information, I came across your CV on the UNB website. I am a college educated individual but I had to read it twice to try to understand it. It’s amazing to that you can make a living writing this horseshit.

Your latest book sounds like a real page turner based on the description on the UNB websiteHis most recent book Game Misconduct: Injury, Fandom, and the Business of Sport, based on qualitative interviews with former professional hockey players and fans of the sport, uses Marxist-Feminist social reproduction theory to explore how the political economy of sports like hockey is predicated on an affective transfer from athletic workers to fans through the physical sacrifice that is fundamental to these 'games.'

How are book sales going?

Regards,

A. Wells

This is one of DHS’s stock phrases that they copy-paste into anything they can, regardless of whether it’s true or not, as it obviously isn’t in Seck’s case. Glad to hear she’s been moved to a hospital, but as @nkalamb.bsky.social points out, that only happened after her case made national news.
The Department of Homeland Security told
USA Today on 23 September that Seck "chose to overstay her welcome in violation of our nation's laws", adding, "To be clear: a…

We expect DHS to be depraved, so it’s no wonder they abducted a college athlete and denied her the care even they admit she is owed by them, but the cowardice of the NCAA and universities in the face of that injustice is truly something to behold.
