With so much misinformation about this draft bylaw spreading online, I wanted to take a closer look at the claims people are making and compare them to what’s actually written. Unsurprisingly, a lot of what we found isn’t changing, but there were a few sections that left us scratching our heads.

Nanaimo RCMP have confirmed that officers responded to reports of a plane crash in a wooded area near Twilight Way, south of Nanaimo, B.C., at approximately 3 a.m. this morning. RCMP say the plane was found "in a large debris field and there were no survivors." The investigation is ongoing.

The fire discovered by BC Wildfire Service late yesterday afternoon between Lake Cowichan and Port Renfrew is now three hectares in size. Three initial attack crews and a helicopter are responding to the blaze.
