The Danai are the oldest of the tribes and kingdoms of Lynamar. Located on the Great Ring's northern outer rim, where their ancient ancestors first crossed the Ice Road and settled the lands of the horned gods. Here, among red leaves and carved stones, the people are wild, and the waning memory of old breathes yet.

This realm is shielded from winter's breath by the hearth-fire of the Warrior-Mother. It is said that it was once as green and fertile as the southern lands. But over the eras, the Mother's flame has waned. Now, the old forest is withered and golden, never knowing summer or winter.

Banshees are a legendary death cult of women who dedicate themselves fully to the Mother's warrior-face. Whether defending their home or avenging its loss, they sweep through battlefields like a fierce whirlwind. Their ancient copper scythes, whistles, and boar-faced war-masks still faintly sing with an immortal's wrath. Hollow-mouthed tree-women often accompany them, awakened by the banshee's keening.

I'm watching the "I can't take WoW seriously anymore" video and it got to the point about Zul'jan's dying words and there's something that only NOW is bothering me. When he asks Zul'jarra (tritely) whether she remembers their "childhood home", he specifies "the towering trees, the scent of the moss"

So in order to give Blood Elf models to both factions, they created a completely new subspecies of Elves that split up to ally with the two factions, instead of using the existing two factions of High Elves that were aligned to the two factions?? I'm really confused what the thought process was

I feel the reason people dislike "The Faction War" is fundamentally the same reason people dislike the current main storyline: it feels like the writers are unable to envision a conflict where there isn't one side that is completely Right - a conflict is always started by someone who is Wrong.

I think my core issue with 12.1 is that Zul'Aman severely needed an actual examination of the loa for Zul'jan's story to really work. If I were Zul'jarra and I had my brother challenging the loa, my first question to the gods empowering me WOULD be "what is different this time?"

There’s SO much to discuss around Amani faith in their loa and why they do or don’t deserve it, but the story instead seems oddly insistent on accepting blind faith in them. Which is so weird in the context of Midnight, an xpac otherwise dedicated to the dangers of blind faith.

Zul'jan ends up basically *entirely* invalidated. The people who believe in his cause died in 12.0, the Amani unanimously despise him, and the elves that colonized his people are left entirely unaffected. The "true strength" is Zul'jarra and her desire to work *with* them.
