Unlike Seelie units, which are grown for a specific purpose, the Darkspawn can use their armories to equip their units with specialized gear.

For example, goblins spawn as weak and unarmored (albeit mobile) shielded spear infantry, and can be upgraded to either pikemen or crossbowmen.

The humans of Orom tend to be of a shorter, sturdier build. They have evolved to be excellent rock climbers, with stronger upper body and elongated arms.

Note: although they're distantly inspired by fantasy dwarf tropes, they're not actually very short. Only about half to one head shorter than the average human of Mythopoeia, on average (and some may grow to be quite tall, just like anyone else).
Also, bear in mind that all humans of Mythopoeia are archaic, and thus usually have some of these traits to varying extent (more body hair, longer limbs, flaring ribcage, prominent brow ridge, elongated face with receding chin, generally a shorter and more muscular build). So there's not as much difference as you might think.
