to me, knives was only ever a lost, scared little boy full of hope and love for a future that was doomed to never come. i'm thinking, always, of him in trimax. when he was so small and optimistic about a place for him and vash in a world of humans, if they would be accepted, even loved.

#stargazespoilers I'm gonna try not to harp on it for too long, but I really do have a bee in my bonnet about taking away nai's ability to connect with the plants. when you build up your antagonist as a person who has been othered by both sides of who he is, with no opportunity to experience empathy

Removing knives’ ability to speak with and understand the plants and handing that to Meryl was such a curveball it left me speechless. A part of Trimax that made it so great was that the plants HAD motivation. Some DID want to be free, some DID love humanity. The threat of a plant uprising was real.

stampede meant so much to me, and not just because of a fucking ship, it wasn't perfect but it was so beautifully told and you could see how much love the whole crew making it put into it and how much they cared and worked together to tell the story they wanted to tell

Stargaze was filled with characters telling us what Knives was thinking but then showed us something else. He'll be mad that plants were killed to resurrect him, but then Knives kills even more. He's lonely without Vash, but kills himself when Vash finally offers companionship.
