Teen is 15 tomorrow and requested a Witcher cake. This is my effort. Previous years have involved Zelda, Minecraft, dragon, pirate and space cakes, amongst others. I’m sad there many not be many more such things 🥲

Occasionally. But I’m extremely unphotogenic at the best of times, never mind in the middle of a run, so it’s not something I’m usually inclined to spend money on.

Wood ones can be nice - but the Cheltenham Half one from 2021 is so thin it feels really flimsy. Interesting they switched back to metal after that, I think people complained. I think whatever it’s made from it needs to have enough weight to actually hang!

I like it. Perspex as an alternative to metal seems to work quite well. They did the same last time but it had a tractor rather than flowers

It’s just another #medalmonday (two in a row!)

Such a great event at Run Upcote this morning. I failed yet again to not look ridiculous while running, however this was almost EIGHT MINUTES faster than when I did this event in 2024 😲😲 #trailrunning #runchat

We had a fab time playing Jet Lag Hide and Seek today. Highly recommended if you want something that teens will enjoy, gets you outside and has some challenge to it. We played it using the local bus network in Cheltenham, this worked reasonably well #jetlagthegame

Really looking forward to Run Upcote, a local 5 mile trail event, which I’m doing tomorrow. Just need to remember about the clocks going forward so I don’t miss it 🤣

Doesn’t surprise me, my NB teen had a miserable time with them a few y was a back. My own experience in the 90s was also pretty grim, not sure why people bother any more when the scouts seem to be mixed genders

Transgender girls told to leave Girlguiding groups by September

Can't say this surprises me. We found it very uninclusive when our teen (gender-questioning and autistic) was a member. Interestingly the Scouts seem to acept both boys and girls, I wonder why we even have a girls only version any more www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Now training for the Midnight Sun Half Marathon. Booked months ago but my shoulder woes have made me worry if I would be able to do it. Zero pain during my 10k yesterday, or since, so building up 1km per week until 21 June (with some taper) feels achievable. Day 1 is apparently a rest day 😂 #running

Yeah I can’t think of any hills in Gloucester and a good chunk of it is along the canal which definitely is flat. Weather looks good too
