"Ownership is key" - @emmaroddicksnp.bsky.social Powerful words and stories from Emma Roddick. Innovation around energy is baked into our communities and national story. It's time to put more of that energy into the hands of Scottish communities!

I caught up with SAMH to chat about the Wee Pink Dot project. I'm always happy to help raise awareness of mental health issues and press for better support, whether that means engaging with the great organisations we have working locally, or with those like SAMH who are active in Parliament.

This Disability Pride Month, I've been thinking about how too many folk still can't enjoy our local spaces due to a lack of accessible facilities. I'm delighted Eden Court secured Changing Places Toilets funding, and encourage others to consider applying to future rounds.

To ensure projects like this can become far more common, we need absolute certainty on funding and support. That is why I recently pressed the Scottish Government on its commitments to the Scottish Land Fund.

I was delighted to visit Knocknagael with Community Land Scotland to see the inspiring, ambitious plans being driven forward by local people. It’s folk like Maria who throw themselves into projects and drive them forward that get things done – but it shouldn’t be this hard.

Delighted Donna was happy for a puppy to join us as we chatted crofting! Wee Chicxulub had been a bit poorly over the weekend, so was sticking to me like a whelk. He's learned a lot about the Scottish Crofting Federation's priorities for this parliamentary session.

The withdrawal of Loganair services between Inverness and the Northern Isles is a great concern for islanders, but also has huge potential impacts on Inverness and the Inner Moray Firth, limiting a key pipeline of skilled energy workers. I raised this with the FM today.

Thank you @emmaroddicksnp.bsky.social for signing OFI's election pledge. The SNP must stand up for Scots against the Westminster culture warriors, ban conversion practices, make trans healthcare accessible and efficient, protect abortion rights and end HIV transmission in Scotland by 2030.
The text of Out for Independence's 2026 election pledge for SNP candidates:

We, the undersigned, pledge to uphold and protect the hard-won rights of LGBTQIA+ people.

We pledge to stand against homophobia, lesbophobia, biphobia, transphobia, and all other forms of discrimination and hate against our communities. We recognise and support the right of LGBTQIA+ people to freely choose how they live and love - including their right to bodily autonomy.

We condemn the culture war being perpetrated by Labour, Reform UK and Conservatives alike, who seek to make scapegoats of LGBTQIA+ people, migrants, ethnic minorities, disabled people, and people living in poverty to deflect from the ongoing failures of the Westminster parties, including their ideological commitment to Brexit.

We recognise the harm and fear that this rhetoric has caused, and the dangerous polarisation which said culture war has induced. As such, we commit to defending the rights, dignity, and humanity of marginalised people.

We pledge to stand up for LGBTQIA+ people against the Westminster parties’ attacks and discriminatory policies, fight harmful conversion practices, work towards accessible and efficient trans healthcare, protect the right to an abortion and double down on the ambition to end HIV transmission in Scotland by 2030.

Last but not least, we commit to fight for fundamental change: Independence from the Westminster system and Union which have consistently failed to deliver for the people of Scotland.

🏠 Housing is my top priority. Our new budget is great news for housing - we're building homes, buying back empty properties, finding suitable accommodation for households with children, and preventing homelessness and extortionate rents. I will always work hard to tackle housing issues.
Housing is my top priority. My experience of homelessness drives me to do all I can to prevent it. I've fought hundreds of housing cases, amended the Housing Bill to keep track of what landlords are charging, prompted change to ensure homeless students don’t miss out on EMA, spoken out on the rise of short-term lets and the impact this has. We must prioritise houses as homes. Argued for restrictions on 2nd homesThe SNP's current work on housing: Largest funding allocation to affordable housing since records began. £120m to buy at least 1,200 homes. At least £1.3m this year to buy empty homes. Helped est. 2,261 households with children into affordable housing. Action to keep rents below market benefits approx 140k children a year. Rent controls. £4m to prevent homelessness. £11.5m for rapid rehousing & the Fund to Leave

Four bullet points. 1 Housing is my top priority. Houses should be homes first and foremost. The geographical unfairness of energy bills is indefensible. Those who face colder winters, have old homes, & generate more energy should have lower bills. The SNP has provided record NHS funding. Waiting times have fallen for 8 months in a row. We built a National Treatment Centre. I've spoken up for road & rail improvements

Below is a caption - "Alongside cross-party colleagues, I met with campaigners and spoke about the Moray FLOW Park. I met with the Health Minister to relay concerns about aesthetics law. "Emma takes a selfie inside Inverness Castle. Overset text reads "Seeing Inverness Castle officially open. It was wonderful to join in the official opening of Inverness Castle, alongside colleagues from the Scottish and UK Governments and the Highland Council. The building is impressive and promotes meaningful, slow tourism across the Highlands - well worth a visit!"Emma smiles on Nairn Bandstand. Overset text reads "Voting for the SNP's budget.
