Definitely, unintentionally, managed to make Ryan Gosling look less attractive but not bad for my first gouache painting that’s not just an abstract scene. First time drawing/painting a person in forever too. Should probably do something that’s not Project Hail Mary related at some point too…

Computer screen with a still of Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling) from Project Hail Mary and a gouache painting of him held up below the screen.

So fixated with Project Hail Mary (still) that I painted a canvas to be a backdrop to my Lego set – which is just the coolest Lego set by the way. It rotates! And little Grace and Rocky are adorable.

The Hail Mary spaceship Lego set from the Project Hail Mary movie with mini figs of Grace and Rocky and a colourful spacescape painting backdrop.

I saw/heard Brandon Sanderson give a talk at MCM Comic Con, London, yesterday and it was worth braving the crowds and the heat. Better even than I was expecting. 🤩

Another Project Hail Mary painting. 😅❤️

A scene from Project Hail Mary. Red painted canvas with silhouette of the Hail Mary spaceship and Ryland Grace in a spacesuit surrounded by astrophage – white dots.

I’m not really a film person but thanks to Project Hail Mary I have decided that I’m a Ryan Gosling person now. Join me on Letterboxd as I work through his filmography… or something? (I’ve watched/reviewed four so far.) boxd.it/kdT2t

Screenshot of emmaprew’s Ryan Gosling list on Letterboxd – ‘It’s 2026 and I’ve just discovered Ryan Gosling. I’ve got a lot of films to work through.’ 14% complete. (Although it’s not exactly a complete list.)

Still incredibly inspired by Project Hail Mary – I've seen the film three times now (IMAX last night!) and have re-read the book in the last few weeks. I've been channeling my inspiration into physical art. It's been fun and I love how colourful gouache paints are.

Gouache painting with white gel pen and black sharpie on top. A scene from the film Project Hail Mary where Grace hangs from the spaceship with a bold colourful starscape behind him.

Gouache background with paper cut Rocky on top with added marker pens and white gel pen details. Jazz hands! Project Hail Mary.

Green and orange ouache painting with white gel pen and black sharpie on top. A scene from the film Project Hail Mary where Grace is seeing the planet Adrian for the first time.

Red gouache painting with white gel pen and black sharpie on top. A scene from the film Project Hail Mary where the ship is surrounded by astrophage on the Petrova line of Tau Ceti.

I lasted three days after seeing the Project Hail Mary film before I gave in to the urge to create fan art. Fan art specifically of best boy Rocky. This is supposed to be a movie poster but I've made it square for Bluesky.

Project Hail Mary fan art movie poster featuring Rocky in his 'hamster ball' and the phrase 'Amaze. Amaze. Amaze.’

Also glad I was ‘sensible’ and didn’t attempt to go to Edinburgh show as well, since I still haven’t managed to watch any of Mighty Nein original campaign or the animated series. Who has the time. Can’t even keep up with the new campaign.

Basically me watching Project Hail Mary

Seinfeld meme. Jerry in top panel saying “You’re crying from Project Hail Mary”
Bottom panel is George saying “The ability for life to bond and work together despite our differences got to me”
Jerry adds on “all right”

Really enjoyed the Project Hail Mary film. Maybe even more than the book? Although I think the context of having read the book made the film more enjoyable.

Yes! Firstly because I love High Rollers and want to support you all. Secondly because the world of Altheya is so cool and I want that extra lore (and beautiful artwork!). Thirdly because maybe I’ll be able to play a game in the world one day.

Thought I was getting better at parallel parking outside my new house but tonight I deemed the space my two neighbours had left for me to not be do-able for me. In my head it was only slightly bigger than my car. In reality someone else could probably do it. Maybe future me.

Is there a word for when the main character in the book you’re reading gets betrayed by someone they thought was their ally and you’re weirdly pleased about it because you suspected them from the start (the previous book)? Also just love the anguish.

Two children have been killed every day in Gaza since the so-called ceasefire began. Why has this disappeared from the headlines? The genocide never ended — and our government is still complicit. End all arms sales to Israel, now.
