Post-FantasyCon update: I've been back for 24 hours and am still feeling like a human-shaped pile of sludge oozing around the house. (And am studiously ignoring the broken curtain poles that I still haven't got fixed. 😅)

Time had run away from me again, but I couldn’t afford to let it escape, not today... Celebrating the 5th anniversary of The Thirteenth Hour, book one in The Cruel Gods series, with a proper post! 🥳 225 5-star ratings on Goodreads, SPFBO and BBNYA finalist, Indie Ink winner!

A promo image for The Thirteenth Hour 5th Anniversary. Cruel gods demand worship from their mortal subjects in this gaslamp fantasy featuring magical portals, gothic cosmic deities, quaint Britishisms, and steampunk vibes. SPFBO 8 finalist, BBNYA 2022 finalist, and Indie Ink award 2022 for best setting and wittiest character.

The book cover to The Thirteenth Hour, Book One of The Cruel Gods by Trudie skies features both protagonists of Kayl and Quen. Kayl is at the forefront on the left and is a tall blue-skinned woman with pointed ears and wearing a Victorian-styled dark blue dress. Behind her on the right is Quen, a gentleman with pale skin, silver hair, and wearing glasses and a dark blue suit. He's also holding a pocket watch. Behind them both is a giant white clock that takes up most of the cover along with whispy-white magical strands. The colors of the cover are mostly blue and silver. There are Victorian-style street lamps in the background.

Finally made it home after another ordeal of a train journey involving endless delays, whee. The bright side is that I can get another refund. I'm starting to think maybe they should just stop charging me for tickets in the first place to save on time. 😆
