I think this is an unpopular opinion in #LitRPG circles but I didn't love the book one of the Primal Hunter series. Friends insisted I continue and I got into it as it does improve a lot. The progression elements are on point. But then the Nevermore arc happens...and its pretty dull. #bookreview

I give Primal Hunter book #1 6 out of 10.

It's almost surreal to think this story is finally out in the world, after so many years working on it. It may be my newest release, but some of these characters have been with me longer than any of those from previous books. Here's to Kye, Sorin, the Zylars, and Zinn buy.bookfunnel.com/y2902vi7rx

Wraparound paperback cover for Wraith and the Revolution by A.J. Calvin

Back cover text:
Kye Verex is trapped.

Due to a fluke of genetics, the decisions of the galaxy’s elite, and a lack of finances, he’s stuck on his polluted and noxious home world indefinitely. And it’s slowly killing him.

Then his more fortunate sister returns one day, bringing the promise of salvation. Kelsey has always hoped to find the means to pull him out of his desperate cycle of survival, but it has taken years. Now, she has a plan, one that will cure his genetic condition and clear him for interstellar travel.

The catch?

He has to sign over his very existence – and a portion of his humanity – to Zylar Inc., the galaxy’s most prominent and notorious corporation, in exchange for the necessary treatment. Is his cure worth the cost?

Got a tough pill to swallow from a LitRPG specialist beta-reader. He enjoyed the story but thinks its way too dark for the genre. So now I've got to decide whether to massively revise the book or publish a novel that is unlikely to sell.

Microsoft Word/One Drive glitched and ate eight days worth of editing on my novel. I've been working long hours on it and some-fucking-how it loaded an old version of my novel and has ten missing days of version history so all of the backups are poisoned and I've lost 50 or 60 hours of work. 😢😡 FML

During this whole episode, Alex had a few moments where his homophobia threatened to overwhelm him. He was, after all, floating in a sewer underneath the bleeding corpse of a rat
