Reposted by Emma BDan Neidle @danneidle.bsky.social · 08/10/2026Kemi Badenoch wants to exempt the family home from inheritance tax. But that creates a perverse incentive for elderly people to *upsize* to save IHT. That could double the cost of the policy, and push £100bn+ from savings into housing. A 🧵 on bad tax cuts. 44857363

It is greeted with whoops in the hall – but it's another tax cut focused on the wealthy, and in this case on London and the south-east. 4688

Emma B @emmab12.bsky.social · 05/10/2026I managed to change this in my banking App under settings. You just remove the need to use a card reader. 010

Emma B @emmab12.bsky.social · 02/10/2026I’m at a large shopping centre and I am a bit shocked at home many school age children are here. Losing count. How sad 😞 010
Emma B @emmab12.bsky.social · 01/10/2026I’d keep all of that apart from the curtains - open shelves would look better IMO 💛💙 000

Emma B @emmab12.bsky.social · 27/09/2026I have to move seats at least twice per week during my commute due to selfish behaviour of others - I just want to read my book without having to listen to loud phone conversations, in person conversations, videos playing, knuckles cracking etc! 1100
Reposted by Emma BLiam Thorp @liamthorp.bsky.social · 27/09/2026I do find this country mad. Anyone can see that social care is in a state of devastating crisis in this country and that it is the key source of the NHS crisis as well. There is no feasible way to solve it without everyone contributing. Burnham is honest about that and is already getting pelters. 2632867

Not immigration policies or political rhetoric. At sea, the starting point is simple: Preservation of life comes first under all maritime conventions. 26896469

A small boat from Normandy spent more than 30 hours at sea. Those on board now on their 2nd rescue vessel as Border Force forced to play cat and mouse with far-right activists who have their own boat. 1042174958
