Journalists, have you taken the 2026 survey yet? More info: accessiblejournalism.org/oaj-conducts... Survey: accessiblejournalism.surveymars.com/q/y2hGhFumV
A survey question asking How is the U.S. journalism industry doing when it comes to accessibility? Answer options are: Good, Fair, Poor, and Unsure. Unsure is marked as the response.

Below the survey reads: The Organization for Accessible Journalism's 2026 Accessibility survey aims to answer this question — and more —  by asking journalists about accessibility experiences. Take the survey today!

This data will help @accessiblejournalism.org. But it will also help the industry as a whole. We are also so grateful to @opennews.bsky.social, which has diligently helped promote this survey, along with so many other orgs which have stepped up to include it in your newsletters. 2/

Keep those surveys coming in! You: • don't need to have any accessibility experience to take the survey. • do need to be a journalist working/living in the U.S. or territories (or work as journalism educator, work at journalism support org, etc.) Questions? Ask me! 1/

How can you support disabled people during Disability Pride Month? By sending your money to nonprofits that support disability rights, accessibility, and disability justice. @equalaccesspublicmedia.org supports accessibility in journalism and news. A $5 monthly gift makes a big difference.

Heraldic crests were created to represent families and soldiers at a glance in medieval Europe. They had to be visually striking, but also communicate the history, personality, and intentions of those they represented. Every element of a heraldic crest means something and was chosen with care.
