Remember when we said auto layout was coming to Sketch? It’s here. It’s called Stacks, and it’s part of our biggest release ever — out now. There’s a lot to cover, so buckle up and we’ll take you on a tour. Also, stick around for a surprise at the end of the thread. 👀 Let’s go ↓

Very excited to watch valley bros explain how stealing models is bad but stealing books to train models is absolutely fine.

The classic “You wouldn’t steal a car” anti-privacy message, except it says “You wouldn’t steal an LLM”

Command Bar is a big improvement to your workflow and we're already supercharging it. In here @bxtr.me navigates through the dev and design challenges of bringing components into the command bar. 18 minutes, yes, but full of valuable interaction design lessons, watch it :)

What are we doing in 2025 at @sketch.com? Right in the first months, you can expect: - Stack Layout (Framer are the OG on stack/auto-layout, so w believe calling it stacks fitting) - Frames (well, same reasoning as above, figma nailed the implementation)

So what did we do in 2024? Or is it what we're doing in 2025? Definitely check this out, full of of greatness from our dear team at @sketch.com

Wanted to do a Sketch Wrapped but remembered we don’t track what you do in your documents. So here I am making it all up. I reckon this is probably all of you.

We’re working a stack layout feature for @sketch.com, and while we still have lots to do, here’s a sneak peek from yours truly: youtu.be/wK_OXZxakPQ Particularly pleased with how we’ve repurposed the existing alignment actions to override cross-axis alignment on items.

Mastered hackery to create easy access to a new mini I'm using as a home server: – Dock folder with custom icon & fan display – AppleScript tied to a shortcut for folder contents display – Automator/Shortcuts/Webloc ‘apps’ to trigger actions

After seeing some simple icons for Illustrator and Photoshop by @mantia.bsky.social I decided to make some of my own. Recently @mmarfil.com showed of the new the new @sketch.com tinted icon for iOS using the app’s mono icon/logo, which inspired me to make a simplified Mac icon for my dock.

A customer macOS dock icon for Sketch using the apps simplified monogram. The icon uses an orange/yellow diamond shape on a dark background with an orange/yellow border.

This week in coffee: Colombian gesha from Daisy Acevedo, roasted by the fantastic La Cabra (Denmark). My second gesha this year, and this one is really good, nicely balanced acidity, a lot of personality! What you drinking?
