Metaphor update: I wish Catherine was a recruitable party member but its looking like that is not going to happen- she has been plonked into the Friend / Social Link zone. I have become 47th in line to the throne even while every second line of NPC dialogue is outright racist towards the protagonist

Played a little more Metaphor last night, now have a fourth party member and both of my guesses as to who it would be were dead wrong, a nice surprise. I've unlocked Magic Knight for the Hulkster and am disappointed that it does not inherit the skills from the previous class in the tree :(

Turned up to play Gundam locals, shop misbooked the event so no table available and got turned away. Cooooool. Events are hard to run, especially with wretched nerds, but you can't say "we made a post" as if everyone is constantly watching whatever social media sites you have made load bearing!

Playing a little more Metaphor. Without spoilers, can someone let me know if the game eventually lets you have a 4-person party?

Started playing Metaphor Re-Fantasio, have just recruited Hulkenberg and been given my first timed deadline. I wish the game had just 10% more chill in most respects: the UI popping off all the time, the very thickly applied fantasy racism, and the number of plot elements it is juggling

Destiny 2 remains, as ever, a deeply frustrating thing. The good game feel is still here, but even with the masses of work gone into it and the many ways it has been assembled over the years it remains underwhelming. Somewhere in this 7-dimensional puzzle is a perfect game. They just never found it.

LRT: The collapse of any kind of ADHD assessment capability where I live (Scotland, not NHS England but same issues present) caused me to go private. Codifying a 2 year delay as a "minimum" is a pathetic capitulation and a way to fudge statistics. How many people will not survive those two years?

If you see an increase in cancer diagnosis you don’t impose a wait limit on time it takes people to get assessed. You employ more cancer specialists. People are going after a disability because it’s an easy target. This is state sanctioned suffering, abuse and neglect.

The anime adaptation of "Young Ladies Don't Play Fighting Games" is very good and also smart about picking/choosing what it wants to cover. If you enjoyed it, consider the manga! It has more EVO Japan, more fun faces, and more evidence that Mio's mother may in fact be a demon wearing a human skin

I am done with this shit. It is over. The state of engineering right now is horrible. It has been half a month since I started a new role at a big company.
Nobody knows anything here. The specs, code, tests, PRDs, tickets, resolution of those tickets, reports, etc., everything is made by Claude Code.
Nobody on my team likes this. They are being forced to ship as much as they can. I have heard multiple times from higher management that pushing code is not a bottleneck, so why are we slow?
