Tiger Woods, after a car accident, says to police officers, “Yeah, I was just talking to the President.”

Which is unintentionally the most ridiculous thing to say when trying to prove you are not a- a crackpot or b- under the influence.

The House website says that is, sadly untrue: www.house.mn.gov/sessiondaily...
From the Minnesota House of Representatives:

Legend: Farmers tipped a cow over the House Gallery railing
An enduring, and entirely unsubstantiated, legend about the Capitol is that farmers tipped an emaciated cow over the railing of the public gallery in the House Chamber during the Great Depression.
During that time, farmers did bring starving livestock to the Capitol grounds to showcase dire farm conditions, but none made it inside.
The legend dates to the Great Depression itself when farmers were said to have thrown rotten vegetables at representatives from the gallery.
These stories lack evidence.
"You would think that there would be a newspaper article,"
Pease said.
Over the years, events were conflated and the legend grew
"from vegetables to livestock," Pease said. Farmers throwing vegetables shifted into throwing manure, which eventually became tipping a cow over the railing.
Pease has heard visitors reference the closure of seating in the gallery behind the speaker's dais as evidence for the rumor - that's from where the farmers supposedly threw the vegetables. In fact, the space was renovated for offices, rather than as a response to any incident.

Why would they even allow 81-1 to be an option. It’s entrapment, frankly. This is the best I’ve gotten; I feel pretty good about it with Cliff Robinson at PF.

We’re dancing animals! Kurt Vonnegut on the exact topic:
"Oh, she says, well, you're not a poor man. You know, why don't you go online and buy a hundred envelopes and put them in the closet?
And so I pretend not to hear her. And go out to get an envelope because I'm going to have a hell of a good time in the process of buying one envelope. I meet a lot of people. And see some great looking babies. And a fire engine goes by.
And I give them the thumbs up. And I'll ask a woman what kin
d of dog that is. And, and I don't know. The moral of the story is - we're here on Earth to fart around. And, of course, the computers will do us out of that. And what the computer people don't realize, or they don't care, is we're dancing animals. You know, we love to move around. And it's like we're not supposed to dance at all anymore.

- Kurt Vonnegut tells his wife he's going to buy a single envelope

It is kind of odd for him to say he misses Durham since during his short time there, he was reportedly very homesick: (From The Athletic:)
However, inside, Knueppel was struggling with homesickness. All his life, he had done nearly everything with his four younger brothers and parents. Watching the Green Bay Packers on Sundays. Rebounding for each other after school. Eating breakfast together. He felt so isolated when his parents left him at Duke during his first week that he asked if he could FaceTime during the family breakfast. He missed his friends from back home, too, who mostly stayed in the area.
"That was hard," Knueppel says, "being away from people that you care about."
He was also being pushed to his limit physically. He was playing well - and his coaches even told him so. Still, Knueppel didn't agree. "I was being hard on myself," he says.
The homesickness wouldn't subside, either, as the summer turned into fall. The official season would start soon. Chari was close to driving the family Ford Expedition to Durham, N.C., and temporarily moving there. "We were really worried," says Dildy, the Duke coach,
"that Kon would go home before the year started and decide not to come back."

Also, this is why people do not trust Simon Rosenberg. The “L” in DFL still means a lot to some of us.
Simon Rosenberg, a political consultant who is starting a political fundraising campaign in Minnesota while people are under attack from the federal government and are in need of basic services, explained on Wikipedia:

“According to the 2002 book How to Hack a Party Line: The Democrats and Silicon Valley, Rosenberg and NDN were instrumental in shifting control of the Democratic Party away from labor unions and toward Silicon Valley businesses.[3] Rosenberg said in 1999, "Our problem as a party is that the biggest source of our venture capital now comes from labor, which is a group that's becoming less and less important, and representing less and less of a percentage of American voters. ... We have to replace labor's investment in the party with investment from another source, and hopefully from a source that's growing."

My inner monologue arguing with itself when thinking about last night’s Wolves game:
Rick Pitino’s famous “The negativity in this town sucks” press conference:
““Larry Bird is not walking through that door, fans. Kevin McHale is not walking through that door, and Robert Parish is not walking through that door. And if you expect them to walk through that door, they’re going to be gray and old. What we are is young, exciting, hardworking, and we’re going to improve. People don’t realize that, and as soon as they realize those three guys are not coming through that door, the better this town will be for all of us because there are young guys in that (locker) room playing their asses off. I wish we had $90 million under the salary cap. I wish we could buy the world. We can’t; the only thing we can do is work hard, and all the negativity that’s in this town sucks. I’ve been around when Jim Rice was booed. I’ve been around when Yastrzemski was booed. And it stinks. It makes the greatest town, greatest city in the world, lousy. The only thing that will turn this around is being upbeat and positive like we are in that locker room ... and if you think I’m going to succumb to negativity, you’re wrong. You’ve got the wrong guy leading this team.”
