I had 8 meetings between 7:30am-12:30pm and it basically ruined the rest of my day. The context switching in particular killed me. How do people do this?

Man, writing a fanfic after original work only for the last 3 years is teaching me SO MUCH about pacing & information management. People are theorizing in the comments & it’s showing me exactly where I thought I was clear and wasn’t and where I thought I’d hidden things & they found it. Its amazing!

I really need people to understand that camp is not "this is stupid, yes? we're all in on the joke that this is dumb." Camp is "this is stupid and I DON'T GIVE A SHIT BECAUSE I LOVE IT". Camp has no winking. Camp is an uninhibited love for the thing expressed out loud. Thank you, goodbye.

So interesting 💭 "Relighting 'Nighthawks' - bit.studio reimagines Edward Hopper's classic artwork, turning the most crucial element, the 'light,' into something you can actually control!" The exhibit is held at the bit.studio gallery on the 3rd floor, Slowcombo building in Samyan, Bangkok. #art

Just got back from watching The Odyssey and damn I've never seen such a Brechtian film before, or a movie that was on a topic I know intimately where I was also intensely *not* the intended audience.

When the fandom discourse resurgence finally gets you off your ass to write the fic that’s been rattling around your brain for the last, oh, fifteen years… I had so many things to do. The plot bunnies do not give a shit.

Oh hey, a bunch of companies are about to figure out why the Canadian government said Meta couldn't use their news sources to make money without paying the news sources themselves and why that wasn't censorship. I hope, anyway.

There were uncountable books in the library, none of which I knew. I picked one at random and read the blurb. "A cosy fantasy?" "Yes," said my host. I picked another. "Cosy mystery?" "Yes." "Are all your books cosy?" Cthulhu shrugged. "If you'd seen what I've seen, you'd want comfort too."

I will die on the hill that it's inappropriate to call Easter "Zombie Jesus Day." Zombie is not a generic term for undead - it has a specific meaning. We HAVE a generic term for beings who have returned compos mentis from death in their original, physical bodies: Revenants.

The most important advice can I give to new (genre fic) writers is that in each scene: 1. The protag should be trying to do something 2. Something must change There's more to it, of course, but if you lock down a sense of progression in every scene, you'll be off to a strong start. #writesky

Ah, the age old question when writing an antagonist: how far is too far for a reader to accept when he's being an asshole?

I lived in Japan long enough to not wear shoes inside, so when I moved to Canada I was delighted to find that that’s standard here too, even for guests. But the more I learn about other countries I’m beginning to suspect that it’s really just the USians who wear shoes indoors and we’re the weirdos.
