Thrilled to still have my 2% Western Bantu & Forest Peoples and now 1% DRC-Luba Peoples. And thanks to strong family history circles know exactly who it pertains to.

Another late entry #Pigeons&Doves. My wood pigeon called Bob. He has no tail but gets around beautifully. Has been visiting me for the last 12 years

Absolutely 1942 had been very difficult for the Wandsworth family and ended up moving to the suburbs and the same for the Lambeth family . My research at the moment is concentrating on family evacuation due to the Blitz.

Wow. Thats amazing. I will look out for it. My grandad Doyle and Bailey had protected occupations during WW2 as by then they were transferred from fancy ware to sanitary ware. 😊

While in Ypres this year, we visited many cemeteries where many Māori soldiers were buried. But names were not mentioned. Wondered if anyone knew why

Standing like a colossus outside New Zealand's National Stadium is the tribute to the father of All Black Rugby Dave Gallaher. Born in Ireland in 1873 and one of the first settlers to New Zealand, Gallaher would die from his wounds during the Battle of Passchendaele in 1917. He rests in Belgium.

It’s happening! We’re getting ready to relocate to our new home in High Wycombe and will be temporarily closed to onsite visitors from 1 October 2026. This is so we can safely pack up and move all our collections to Denmark St, where we’re looking forward to welcoming you in Spring 2027.
Leatherbound quarter session rolls on archive shelving, the image tinted blue. Text is placed over the background in white font, saying 'Upcoming Temporary Closure'.

#WorldLetterWritingDay. So appreciate the distant cousins that kept so many postcards from back in the day. In this one it would seem someone went off to war and left Grandad with Spot the dog.

As a child in the 60’s l was mesmerised by the beauty of Margaret Lockwood and her beauty spot. So much so l would spend every Sunday tea sitting with the black top of a winkle placed on my left cheekbone. 🤣🤣

I remember when Ofsted came into our local school and told us as governors that the main aim was just that. Well rounded individuals. Music to my ears. Still waiting.

My 3xggf was in the Wigan Observer in 1870 having been accused, with several others, of 'keeping dogs without having procured licences'. His case was the only one dismissed. 😄

Given my failed attempt to research on #OnePlaceWednesday due to the granddog sitting recently. I think I've found a solution, so the rest of the day will be spent researching dog licences in the UK and Ireland.
