I've decided that if I want to add any additional custom areas to my Kanto in Anemoia, they have to fit within the 1:1 scale of the region. Whether the location is above, or under ground / sea, if it doesn't fit on the map, then I can't use it. I think that is a reasonable limitation.

I've now finished the second batch of custom shiny Pokémon sprites! Now at the half-way point of the Anemoia Pokédex, here are two of my newest favorites. Shiny Poliwag was inspired by red Otamamon, and as for Farfetch'd, I thought it would be cool if it held a stalk of rhubarb. 🌸

This is my first draft of the day / night cycle for Pokémon Anemoia. Both dawn & dusk share the same tileset, so I chose colors that share a middle-ground between the two. The official version likely aimed for golden hour, while I opted for an alpenglow. Then with night, I just made it glow more. ✨

Hello, #PortfolioDay! I'm Deadkat, a French pixelartist mostly working with mixed media (3D+pixelart) and very limited palettes (usually 4 or 5 colours)! I use shaders to add neat effects to my art too! Oh, and I have a website now :) deadkat.art

I think I should add more waterfalls. I was looking into it, and between Kanto and Johto, throughout the second generation, there are only 4 waterfalls, with only 1 in Kanto. What's the point of unlocking the HM if you barely use it? No, we need more. We need to make it worth it. 😤🧐

#portfolioday Hey. Despite everything, it's still Alessandro - an italian guy trying to make a living out of #pixelart. I used to work in the movie art department, but that was just a phase, MOM! I also have game asset packs (tilesets & characters mainly) for sale on my Itch and Patreon pages.

Of the custom shiny sprites I designed in my first batch for Pokémon Anemoia, these two were my favorite. I had no particular inspiration for Vulpix, but for Pidgeot, SSJ Trunks came to mind. Making custom recolors is fun, and I can't wait to see what inspires me in the next batch! ✨

About 12 hours later, I've just finished the first batch of 50 Pokémon! Now I know what you're thinking, "12 hours to edit 50 sprites sounds unusually long." No no no. Every Pokémon has a front and back sprite for both normal and shiny Pokémon. So every batch of 50 is having to edit 200 images! @.@

I'm currently starting the process of recoloring all base Pokémon sprites and their shinies. In the same way that the default tiles and overworld sprites had ugly colors in GSC, so did the Pokémon themselves. It's a lot of extra work to achieve visual consistency, but it will be worth it. 🙏
