Glaze 2.2 is out. It is an update for Windows users to support recent NVidia GPUs (including 50xx GPUs). Downloads at: glaze.cs.uchicago.edu Mac users do not need to update. We are also updating Nightshade to fix the True bug and also support new GPUs. That update is coming in the next few days.

Going to add a little more context to this so people can understand immediately what the issue is- IF YOU PLAY ARC RAIDERS, REMOVE YOUR DISCORD INTERGRATION + CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD IMMEDIATELY. Alt text is in each image. This is a major issue and seriously concerning to be remotely a thing.

The Arc Raiders Discord SDK connects using a full user Bearer token, opening a complete Discord gateway connection identical to the one used by the Discord desktop app itself. Discord's gateway pushes all events to this connection - including private DM messages. Rather than filtering sensitive events, the SDK logs everything it receives to disk.

Impact:

Any private conversation received while the game is running is written to disk
Log files may be included in crash reports or bug report uploads
Log files may be accessible to other applications on the same machine
Third parties with access to the machine or crash reports can read private conversations

Description:
The user's full Discord Bearer authentication token was found written in plaintext inside the game log file.

Evidence:

"token":"Bearer <redacted>"

(Full token redacted for this report - present in original log file)

A Discord Bearer token is functionally equivalent to a username and password.

Risk Summary
Finding Severity Users Affected
Private DM content written to log file Critical All players using Discord
Bearer token written to log file Critical All players using Discord
Friends list presence data logged High All players + their Discord friends
Overly broad gateway connection scope High All players using Discord

i think whatever replaces Discord should let us move little avatars around. this has nothing to do with my "bring physicality to social media" agenda i just think it'd be a good rational sensible thing to have. oh yeah and give them little pixel art outfits & items too (my breath gets heavier,)

This is a pretty good example why, even outside of creative, if I find out your business uses AI at any point in your workflow, I lose 90% confidence. It’s not an ethical concern, it’s a competency one. I assume you’re an idiot if you think these things can work reliably in any critical role.

Ahh so if you’re new to Bluesky and you wanna grow here, I have a few tips: 1. USE ALT TEXT! This is very important!!! 2. Engage with the Bluesky community, don’t just post only! 3. Use hashtags, you don’t get shadow ban for using them! 4. Support other artists & join artshares!

On top of this, I've seen this "Edit Image" feature appear over REAL LIFE PHOTOS OF PEOPLE. Like this is not also deeply evil but extremely dangerous, especially since you can't seem to opt out of it right now.

Man its like just so invasive and gross feeling to see "Edit Image" appear over other people's images. Musk decided to give us the only kind of gift he can for christmas, sickening disappointment. Best of luck out there folks.

tobey(peter parker) from spidersman looking at the edit image button but then puts on glasses to see the text actually says fuck artists. Though technically it should be the other way around because spidersman can see better without glasses now if youve seen the movie you'd know that. Also sam raimi ripped off his spidersman movie idea from james cameron, justice for big jim

For further context twitter added a button that allows users to generate ai images using existing art posts from artists. It removes glaze and it basically reskins the artwork by using the existing work as a base. Twitter is no longer a safe space for art

Just so I'm clear on this, computer memory has tripled in price because a bunch of it that hasn't been produced yet has been ordered to populate GPUs that aren't installed in data centers that aren't built yet in order to service a demand that doesn't exist to make profits that don't happen.

BY THE WAY If you've updated to Windows 11 recently, you're probably on version 25H2. There's a new setting in Settings: Privacy & Security. Scroll aaaaaaaalll the way to the bottom and you'll see "Text and Image Generation." TURN IT OFF.

Screenshot from Windows Settings>Privacy and Security>Text and image Generation.

"Text and image generation uses on-device AI technologies to quickly respond to requests. Turning this settings off will not affect apps and features using cloud AI technologies.
