Yes absolutely! I’d be happy to discuss my approach, which I think is very relevant for BBP.

Absolutely! Are you interested in developing something for your local institution or in attending a workshop yourself? I can help you with both 🥰

I’m your gal! I can teach all of these subjects remotely very effectively, and I can also be available for short workshops or lectures in person, or semester long in person if you are in Atlanta, GA

Really sad that it looks like I won’t get to teach DesBib for CUNY Queens college again. It was a lot of work and very fun! I guess the good news is that I’m again a free agent. If you’re looking for an instructor to teach bibliography, book history, rare book librarianship, pedagogy w rare books

I mean his reality tv brand is that he’s kind of a jerk, but I have always liked him he’s a solid player and I enjoy his on screen arrogance immensely. A Jordan season is always a good season imo.

@lehelton.bsky.social I remember someone (you??) telling me that the books in schomberg’s collection were rebound when they were sold to nypl in library buckram. I cannot find a source on it though. Did I hallucinate this or is this true?

Seeking Approval, Confronting Objectivity: Neutrality in the Library of Congress Subject Headings Approval Process by Allison Bailund, Deborah Tomaras, Michelle Cronquist, and Tina Gross www.inthelibrarywiththeleadpipe.org/2026/seeking...
In Brief: This study examines the concept of neutrality in Library of Congress Subject Headings and the subject approval process by analyzing proposed headings that were rejected over a nearly 20-year period. It considers the place of neutrality in libraries more generally and argues that equity, rather than neutrality, is the appropriate lens for judging subject heading proposals. Finally, it recommends several reforms that could improve the subject heading process and make it more equitable.

Very sad to see the news of Bill Buice’s passing. He was always such a sunny presence in the world of Rare Books, welcoming, kind, and enthusiastic.

I really do need to find someone to pay me to teach my c19-20 book history/bibliography class here in Atlanta. I mean probably when I have bandwidth I’ll do it on my own because I believe in the value of the class but it would be nice to get paid for it!

We are thrilled to receive a $280,000 grant through @gettymuseum.bsky.social's Black Visual Art Archives program! These grants aim to increase access to important archival collections across the USA with work by Black artists. Rose's grant is to support processing of the Jim Alexander photographs.
