Wittgenstein on the Joint Session (The Duty of Genius p275)
The Oxford philosopher, John Mabbott, recalls that when he arrived in Nottingham to attend the conference he met at the student hostel a youngish man with a rucksack, shorts and open-neck shirt.
Never having seen Wittgenstein before, he assumed that this was a student on vacation who did not know his hostel had been given over to those attending the conference. T'm afraid there is a gathering of philosophers going on in here', he said kindly. Wittgenstein replied darkly: 'I too."

haven’t had a chance to read the paper but this is one of the best abstracts I’ve seen
No one describes a passionate night using the language of consent. Partners in long-term relationships rarely think of intimacy in terms of permission. If consent is absent precisely when things go well, why does it dominate sexual ethics? Critics have pressed this challenge, but they fail to explain why consent is irrelevant rather than merely unspoken. I argue that consent is a tool whose authority depends on three conditions: opacity of wills, risk of wrongful invasion, and the value of sovereignty. In intimate relationships marked by trust, these conditions are altered. The operative norm shifts from consent-sensitivity to dissent-sensitivity—from "do not act without permission" to "you may act unless there is dissent." Trust does the moral work, and it is not consent in disguise; the two belong to different normative registers. Consent is a problem-solving device that presupposes a problem. In the ideal case, there is no problem to solve.
