I’ve been quiet, but it’s for a good reason 💛 Elena came 3 weeks early, spent a day in the NICU where I wasn’t allowed because I had norovirus, BUT our family has been reunited again and soaking in all the baby snuggles! (Now prepare to rarely if ever see my children’s faces on here again lol)

Like I said, some may not agree and that’s fine. I’m just an old crone of the community and been around too long and seen the rise and fall of pitch events/platforms/etc. And as always, cold querying is still the best way to secure representation. There are no shortcuts!

Now, we DO need these events, but staggered would help the entire community feel less fatigued. We need community now more than ever and starting over on a new platform can be daunting, but pitch events aren’t the only way to go about that. Interact and engage daily! Be genuine!

It’s starting to feel like self promotion rather than sharing a story you love. The constant stress to create new pitches and have fresh ideas to increase engagement isn’t healthy for creativity. Rather than creating community, it’s become the whole “follow for follow, like for like” mentality.
