I beat Tales of Berseria! ✅Good story ✅Amazing, refreshing cast ✅interesting mechanics ❌Overstays its welcome ❌Messy equipment system I have really complicated feelings about this one. I both absolutely love it, and kind of dislike it. It’s a mess but a pretty mess

I beat Trails in the Sky FC! ✅ Fun battle system ✅ Great music ✅ Pretty visuals ❌Bad pacing ❌ Weak storytelling I don’t quite get the hype with this one. It’s fine, but it also has cliched characters, awful pacing and some of the worst dialogue I’ve seen in a modern RPG. Not my favorite 🤷‍♀️

Agate, Tita and Zin’s backs must hurt so much carrying the cast of Trails in the sky

ChronoKatie - Now playing Tales of Abyss @chronokatie.bsky.social · 15/03/2026

The love story in Trails in the Sky is so cliche and cringe that I’m wondering if it’s heading for a genius rug pull. Probably not…

Trails in the sky is really really good so far, but does Estelle get less annoying?

I beat Dragon Quest VII R! . Stunning visuals . Deep and satisfying job system . Rewards exploration . Too long . Squanders time travel premise I think in terms of gameplay, it’s one of the best RPG‘s I’ve played. It’s so deep If it didn’t botch the premise, it would be an all-timer

Guys I’m just gonna say it. Chrono Trigger would look incredible like this

Dragon Quest VII is an incredible gameplay RPG. Every move has value, the job system is deep and dynamic, bosses vary in strategy, steal is actually useful, so many secret goodies, the list goes on If you play RPGs for gameplay, this is as good as it gets!

I beat Dragon Quest 2! . Super charming cast . Stunning visuals . Rewards exploration . Emotional beats . Recycles a bit too much from DQ1 What a pleasant shock this was! It’s a surprisingly strong story with an amazing cast. A delightful game ^_^ And just in time for VII to arrive in the mail!

I had only a mild interest in Pragmata, but I held on cause it’s Capcom. Just finished the demo, and now I’m super interested. Should have never doubted Peakcom

Aerith is the true hero of FFVII Remake because she wants to prevent Advent Children

2377

ChronoKatie - Now playing Tales of Abyss @chronokatie.bsky.social · 31/01/2026

I still don’t understand why the characters of the FFVII Remake trilogy want to change destiny if Sephiroth loses in the end.

ChronoKatie - Now playing Tales of Abyss @chronokatie.bsky.social · 28/01/2026

As much as I genuinely adore FFVII Remake, the pacing in the final quarter should be taught in classes of how to not pace a game. The underground facility, rat stealing Leslie’s pendant, Hojo’s lab: Just complete momentum killers.

It’s interesting how the the plotline of Midgar very much follows a typical 3-act story structure even back when it was only one quarter of a game. It really was ripe for being its own entry in a trilogy and I always thought it was weird people doubted it would work.

I wasn't joking when I said I'd be walking down the aisle to Aerith's theme.

Sparking Zero added the last characters we were missing, the Moro arc is getting an anime and a possible Xenoverse 3 tease... It's a good freaking day to be a Dragon Ball fan.

Absolutely loved the Dragon Quest VII demo, but does anyone else feel like the art style, while stunning, sort of dilutes the Toriyama designs? Some of the characters and enemies don’t quite feel Toriyama

I beat Dragon Quest 3! . Absolutely stunning . Beautiful atmosphere . Fun job system . Sometimes feels aimless . Inferno is bullsh*t Oh gosh, I love this game. It’s about as good as the classic style of RPG can feel, and it’s designed in a way where every ability feels useful

I beat Dragon Quest 1! . Cozy vibes . Stunning visuals . Makes you utilize everything . Balancing issues . Gear feels weak Aside from some definite balancing issues, this really made me appreciate the classic design of RPGS. You HAVE to think for every boss. Very satisfying

I know I get shit for being a Chrono Trigger megafan and being open to a remake, but I’ve always believed it’s worth trying to A. Show new people this thing I love, B. To see the thing I love as if it’s new again, and C. Because no matter what, the original will always exist.
