Oh my goodness, @elhoimleafar.bsky.social! Did you seriously just create a coven that even me--who notoriously no-thank-yous *every* coven invitation/offer ever for decades--is like, "I think this might be the one!"? 😅

starting a new virtual coven called Coven Of The Unbothered. there's no formal initiation, just light a beeswax candle and say three times “i'm in." white cis men can hang out but they can't be priests, sorry we don't make the rules (we absolutely made the rules). drop a 🕯️ if you're joining.

The Coven Reading List 1/2 the official coven reading list is here. we are officially skipping the repetitive patriarchal wicca books from the 90s. to keep the focus on practical, diverse, and non-patriarchal magic, this is your foundational syllabus: 🔗: bookshop.org/lists/coven-...

Our Core tenets 4/4 The Timing: If you miss the Full Moon peak cuz u were tired or distracted with job, do your spell 2-3 days later in a random Monday afternoon. Strict planetary hours - exact astrological timing are for people who don’t require 8hrs of sleep, and people w/ no life and no friends.

160

That Immigrant Witch 🏳️‍🌈🇹🇷🇻🇪 @elhoimleafar.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Our Core Tenets 3/4 The Practice & Offerings: Function over aesthetic. cuz we respect comfort and practice. the spirits dont care too much about budget, nobody cares about your $50 imported traditional resin incense, bring a cool rock you found in the parking lot, and tap water for the altar.

180

That Immigrant Witch 🏳️‍🌈🇹🇷🇻🇪 @elhoimleafar.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Our Core Tenets 2/4 The Hierarchy: We are decentralized and self-governed. However, to actively disrupt historical power dynamics, white cis men are strictly barred from holding the title of Priest or any leadership role.

Our Core Tenets 1/4 The Initiation: There is no formal initiation. Gatekeeping is exhausting. If you want to feel official, self-initiation is highly encouraged: lock your bathroom door, light a soy or beeswax candle, or a leftover birthday candle, look in the mirror, and say, "I'm in."

A Coven but instead of fighting racism, practicing #witchcraft, and #decolonizingourcraft 🐈‍⬛ we just meet to put down other folks, trash other people's craft, waste our valuable time pretending to be better than everybody else, and drink wine "in the name of the Old Gods"... Oh wait 🤔 #CovenSky

If your #coven do not invite critical thinking, that's a cult. Independent of the religion or tradition the coven follows, and the rules these ones can imply. The coven leader should never shut up critical thinking, or even worse, act threatened when you start thinking out of the box. #CovenSky

I don't care how "traditional" or "old school" the Coven says it is; if the #Coven don't allow common critical thinking, and the leader or participants are constantly gaslighting you about who to follow, to read, and to cancel, without you even asking, that's just another cult. #CovenSky #WitchSky
