The story iirc posits him that way at first!! I had a similar impression?? You only meet him in oppositional circumstances at first, AND I don’t think he Fully understands how important people’s traditions are to them prior to his journey to succeed GJJ

Seeing his birth as defying expectations and thinking he has to continue to defy and surpass expectations for his entire life because of that…… and yet, he sees Wuk Lamat and Koana being treated exactly the same, despite (in his eyes) having to work to shoulder much less

160

Licensed Certified Elf Dealer @elfexegete.bsky.social · 11h

THE VIBES ARE SO INTERESTING… I don’t?? Really doubt that GJJ loved his children equally? But the equal treatment probably felt like spurning to ZJ, just with being a nigh-literal miracle child and internalizing a lot of the expectations of that

GOT DISTRACTED but basically his “we must progress” mindset makes a lot of sense when placed in the context of who his father is and why his father is The President

240

Licensed Certified Elf Dealer @elfexegete.bsky.social · 12h

He still does fall into the former a bit sssometimes, but I did think he would have a much bigger “tech bro” superiority complex than he actually did And a lot of that reads as in the spirit of his father! Like… he was brought up in a household that was responsible for massive cultural shifts but

130

Licensed Certified Elf Dealer @elfexegete.bsky.social · 12h

Honestly once Koana got some of his deeper characterization, a lot of my apprehension abt him fell off bc it was like “oh no he doesn’t wanna introduce new tech bc he thinks cultural identity is stupid; he wants his ppl to maintain their identity, but he wants to make their lives easier”

i'm gonna need y'all to learn that it's ok to dislike someone just off vibes. it doesn't make you a bad person to not mesh with someone. what DOES make you a bad person is harassing them and trying to make up some sort of moral justification as to why you dislike them, so you can appear righteous

It honeslty just shows me how much rape culture exists. With James Somerton, we all collectively agreed he didn’t deserve a platform anymore, and he disappeared. I’m sure he’s got some job somewhere, living a life. But an admitted rapist, well, he we must forgive, because some of us liked his stuff.

But someone who spent too much time around darkness aether and has a strong aspection may just be saddled with unstable healing abilities. Unless maybe they try extremely hard at it…. I think there could be a workaround of using light aether capsules(?) to heal, like than’s cartridges

030

Licensed Certified Elf Dealer @elfexegete.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

Also I’d like to posit that most ppl are relatively neutral-aspected with a slight tug in one direction or another bc of birthplace, lineage, etc Ppl who have a slight darkness aspect can usually still heal fine, but the healed area won’t be quite as flawless

Licensed Certified Elf Dealer @elfexegete.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

Like it’s often better than dying in a pinch oftentimes!

And I think it’s a lot harder to fix a poorly-repaired wound than something actively damaged

120

Licensed Certified Elf Dealer @elfexegete.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

I mean I do largely know what’s going on in the overarching canon ; I just arbitrarily decided this aha

020

Licensed Certified Elf Dealer @elfexegete.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

idk what’s going on in The Canon but I settled on that one can heal with any aspect of aether; light aspected and similar work best bc they’re the most stable. One could, in theory, heal with dark aspected et al, but because it’s so volatile, it’d keep someone alive but put them back together wrong

Friend groups where the resident lifestyle dom falls down the stairs and gets a concussion while prepping an OF video so their sub has to find someone to bring them to the ER (butch from Delaware who hates driving) but not before they finish the shoot #zyaps
