I give the USA about a 30% chance of a legitimate election this year. I'd LOVE to be proven wrong....and even with a legit election, 50% of the voting population is still staunchly Republican....I wouldn't count on November to change anything. Work for it, be happy if it does, but don't count on it

Despite what we all wish, you can't educated them, you can't convince them, you can't change their minds, at least not in numbers that matter. Only removing the system helps, and that RARELY happens in a single election cycle of a country that still runs on the laws that created the system.

You can't vote out fascists effectively, because one election cycle is rarely enough to change the underlying CAUSES that brought those fascists into power. Either the conditions or the fascists have to be physically removed.

yeah, it's "so easy" to slag on metal for "just being noise" - I'm an Industrial musician, I like noise...but because metal (often) lacks melody and recognizable vocals, you have to mix up tones, tempos and rhythms.

Oh, I like bands in all those genres, and I like the sound of metal a lot…it just felt like 45 minutes of the same song. Obviously, people make what they like, but if they had just dropped elements to make a break / bridge every now and then, it would have felt like more of a ‘journey’.

Saw a metal band last night, and I realized why metal, DnB and a lot of techno bores me so often - the sound never changes. Every song has the same timbre, rhythm and melody (If they have a melody at all) At least 1 of those should change every song. Otherwise, it’s just a cool loop.

Thinking of soldiers as terrorists removes your side's need to treat the enemy combatants with the same level of "respect" you'd treat a more powerful, "Western" military. Thinking of local kids as terrorists makes it much harder to think about the cost of winning.

This is something that has always fascinated me about terrorist propaganda from the West. What "most" people think of as terrorists are soldiers....they have bases, train and fight in units. When I think of terrorists, I think of the Vietnam war. One local bike messenger with a bomb.

There are three levels of "misdemeanor offense" in federal law. A is highest, C is lowest. Exceeding the speed limit within a federally-managed area, like a National Park: Class B. Crossing the border without documentation: Class B. Overstaying your visa: Not a criminal offense, a civil offense.
