Capitalism ruins everything, but especially education. Education (& access to it) shouldn’t be based around how profitable I will be or how marketable I will be to future employers. Rethink your pedagogy. Stop teaching to get students jobs. Start teaching to inspire curiosity & passion.

I just want to learn all the things about my favorite things (plants, ecology, radical feminist theory, indigenous sciences, etc). But academia is not designed for people like me, & so I am left to sort through the vast expanses of public knowledge & hope that what I’m finding is relevant/accurate.

Sometimes I forget that I don’t *have* to be sad all the time. When I feel good, I am allowed to embrace that feeling. When good happens to/around me, I am allowed to rejoice & revel. We have to take moments of joy when they are presented to us, otherwise what’s the point of it all?
