The regular grocery distribution I join(and for which I regularly load up the same hatchback with a few hundred pounds of donated bakery bread) was able to get out about 40 bags. That was all I could fit in the nooks and crannies around the bread. (12/16)

Starting about 4pm, I had a steady stream of neighbors coming by and buy nothing folks taking 40 lb boxes of beans. Shout out to one neighbor who took 3 boxes and sent over a friend to get some too. A couple mutual aid folks were able to grab 4 boxes each. (11/16)

Fortunately we happened to have some freezer space and very large coolers while I tried to find someone to take these beans. Friday after I couldn't find a single place that could take so many beans, I posted on Facebook buy nothing groups, and texting neighbors. (10/16)

While going through an absurd number strawberries, I was talking to another woman picking up an order for another group doing something similar, and swapped half a dozen flats of strawberries for some corn chips. Homemade lemonade made with the zest is such an amazing luxury. This batch: zest of 6 lemons, mixed into 1.5 cups white sugar and rested a couple hours until gooey. Add boiling hot water to dissolve sugar, then strain into pitcher with the lemon juice. Add ice and water to dilute to taste.
