So the US will not invoke Article 5 when it is getting attacked by China? I mean, I can accept that. European countries have to build more capabilities to deter fascist Russia either way. And NATO can still exist, even when the US will not be involved directly in a war. Also there is Article 42(7).

If China starts regulating AI openly, the US will do the same. But the reasons will be very different. China's one party system fears the loss of power (loss of narrative). While in the US, the large AI labs like OpenAI and Anthropic work on their regulatory capture, so they can form a cartel.

Canada should start selling US treasury bonds and use the money to support businesses that are affected by Trump's tariffs. Other countries should do the same. Watch how fast Trump will cry foul. And no country should negotiate (for 2 years) until there is a new and mature admin in the WH.

The fact that the US is not taking part in the military exercises with South Korea is an indication of the impact that the war in Iran has had on the readiness of the US military. The US military is trying to reduce costs where it can. Not a good sign if you need to deter China (and Russia).
