I think there are a few who are hating on the game, but the majority seems genuinely excited. Evil Empire did a great job and built on what they and Motion Twin started with Dead Cells and the Return to Castlevania DLC. Hopefully, this continues much like Nintendo and Mercury Steam.

That's why I mention it. I love both! If I could get Risebreak and GU to have a baby, it would be the perfect game for me. I am picking up Wilds (again) in December for Switch 2. My interest may lock there because I just love the Pro controller and playing on the go.

Finally, Resident Evil 2 like LttP showed me games can be fun to play and have an interesting, evolving story. To this day, I have purchased multiple versions of the series on every console I own and PC. I love the lore and the campiness. I can be scared or a badass. I even read the S.D. Perry books

Mega Man X is still one of the GOATs of gaming. Perfect in almost every aspect. I like Mega Man games, but I love the X series (to a point). This game and Streets of Rage 2 battle it put in my head for greatest soundtracks of all-time. This is peak music everyone should hear.

Dead Cells was the catalyst that made me fall in love with rogue-likes. A Hades playthrough sparked interest, but Dead Cells became the fire. I know people now may be tired of rogue-like games, but what the genre has done to reinvigorate some other genres is nothing short of a miracle.

Castlevania Aria of Sorrow was not my first Castlevania, but it was the one thay made me a fan. While it is at the end of the timeline, it made me want to play the whole series. The combination of RPG elements and exploration solidified my love of metroidvanias and I haven't looked back since.

Metroid Fusion was the first Metroid I ever played to completion. I had never finished any of thr series before this game, but when this and Zero Mission launched, I was hooked. Exploring, powering up, and obstacles to overcome. I had just watched Alien for the 1st time just before playing.

Tetris is just the perfect game in my opinion. Easy to play and hard to master. I love just spending time unwinding to some Tetris 99, but I respect the roots that this game came from. If you've never heard the wild story of it coming out of the USSR, I suggest Gaming Historian's retrospective.

XCOM Enemy Within is a bit of a salute to my love of tactical games. I started with strategy RPGs and I learned to embrace tactical as well. This one always feels personal as I name troops after friends and family. Making it to the end was an accomplishment for me. Still need to finish XCOM 2.

Monster Hunter Risebreak made MH my favorite game series. It taught me that it is okay to hit walls and to keep trying. There are many paths to the goal and with patience, you can overcome anything. I still play this one more than any other version, but I also love MHGU for how much is in there.

First is Link to the Past. It is still my favorite Zelda game and it showed me games can have an engaging story. From the opening prologue to the resolution at the end, it wove an epic tale that every entry since has tried to mimic and use the lore established.
