Stars & Stripes used to be a reliable rejoinder to those unhelpful but justifiable claims that the US has never been anything but an untrustworthy imperial oppressor. A concrete example of its highest ideals made real. It was for me anyway. I thought about it a lot.

UPDATE: In this environment it takes a lot of courage to report SA and file a police report. THREE women, all political appointees, spoke up about Shawn DeRemer's gross behavior despite potential career repercussions and virtually no employment protections. We believe them.
