Been more tired lately. Took a while to figure out why since I use AI to code. Turns out that's exactly the cause. I don't vibe code: I read, understand, fix, and review most of it. The volume is the problem. news.ycombinator.com/item?id=4820...

Big celebrations for us Hungarians today. Orban is finally gone. So gone, he didn't even show up in the new Parliament at all today.

I refreshed yazi.app design and functionality with improved aesthetics, plus an article list for raw access. And yes, this is entirely AI. However, I think this is exactly the use case for it, I don't want to spend hours doing this if it can do it reliably.

I have been doing Neko scans for there years (I’m one of the very early customers) Now I heard @profgalloway.com talk about it on @pivotpod.bsky.social and I love it that it’s spreading. I miss one test from their suite: VO2max. But they are still awesome, particularly with three years of trends.

”What’s wrong with build tools? Other languages are compiled!” Yes, but their compiler is official and always there. The #JS ecosystem has devolved into a state where abstraction, the most fundamental software engineering concept, has been outsourced to third party tooling. *That’s* the problem.

CSS is so powerful now, it's amazing looking through older CSS and seeing what can be replaced with a one-liner. I'm on the hunt for snippets that used to be multiple lines of CSS that can now be done in one. Show me what you got!

It l’s much worse. A newspaper controlled by orban’s friends has obtained the addresses and phone numbers of leading opposition party supporters and put them on a publicly available map. Hungarian police is doing nothing about it, international press hasn’t even picked it up.

I agree with most of this www.xipu.li/posts/the-la... What I don’t agree with: nobody really knows what is coming. Hopefully, to something better. But it could be anything. I am the mix of the categories of developers in the post. I can "vibecode" something to 100% but I can also do it by hand.

With the latest iOS Safari where address bar is at the bottom and changes height while scrolling, it seems all bottom fixed menus are not looking ok--they get a small bottom strip below the menu, like a negative space.

Strength is an interesting thing. I have been doing hip hinges for a while and I got up to the weight below (150 kg load) and did several easy reps 1-2 times a week. Except yesterday, when I could barely do 6 reps with 120.

behold the "HTML bomb" It's a counterattack for AI companies that persistently scrape and rescrape your web site, even when you tell them not to when a scraper grabs it, it becomes a 10-gig HTML page and 💣 goes the scraper Item #6 in my latest "Linkfest" newsletter: buttondown.com/clivethompso...
A Chrome browser error page displays the familiar “Aw, Snap!” message, indicating that something went wrong while loading a webpage. A pixelated frowning file icon with Xs for eyes appears at the top left. Below, the error code reads “Out of Memory,” suggesting the browser ran out of system resources. The page includes a “Reload” button in blue on the bottom right

Time must always be made. You’re never going to just have it, you need to create it for the things that matter to you. Get rid of “I don’t have time” and replace it with “it’s not important enough to make time for.” Be honest with yourself, and others, about what’s worth doing.

Here's a thread with a brief history of dependency management in Go. For those of you newer to Go, it might surprise you to know that go modules was not always part of the language. When Go launched in 2009, it did not have any dependency management solution as Google had no need for one.
