Niet helemaal. Het gaat om art 5. De VS zal altijd in de NATO blijven, niet om de NATO incl art 5 maar voor de diverse militaire steunpunten in Europa. Als ze uit de Alliantie stappen lopen ze een reëel risico deze voor de VS belangrijke bases te verliezen.

Perhaps a different foreign policy is possible, but I doubt that other countries will be willing to place much trust in the United States in the years ahead. Trump is exposing just how deeply dysfunctional and compromised the American political system has become.
