A minute ago it was March, and in a minute it will be March again.

I think he’s good in it, but I think plenty of other people would have been better. Thoughts welcome.

I have seen #Digger. I can’t work out why Tom Cruise is in it. Is it for some interesting metatextual reason like Michael Keaton in Birdman? Or did he just insinuate himself into it, shark-eyed, with promises of budget and ticket sales?

I see what you did there! Cos in this context there are two different meanings for sudden death!

And you’re not allowed to use a method more than once, obviously. The longer it goes on you get to the real Wile E Coyote stuff.

By the person they failed to execute. If THEY fail to execute the executioner, the executioner gets another crack at it, and then it’s sudden death.

There’s something about how refined a machine Warhammer is for parting young autistic men from their money that has always bothered me. It’s like they worked out how to refine the cocaine of Airfix models into crack. MtG too.

He was one of the people I wanted to meet one day, when I was a kid. I can well believe this is who he’s always been, given the misanthropy in his work.

There’s a charity in King’s Lynn who provide heavily subsidised proper talk therapy to people in the area. They are the One To One project and they are great. www.121help.org

The One to One Project was established with charitable status in 1984, to provide long term professional support to adults in West Norfolk and North Norfolk who are experiencing emotional, social and/or and mental health difficulties.

“I’ve never really been sad,” my dad - a massive hoarder whose early years development took place in London during the blitz - said to me once when I was struggling. The implication being I should try being not sad too.

We say someone has “cemented their image AS… (xyz).” Cemented his image as the world’s foremost expert in colliding hadrons” etc. “cemented her image” is only half a thought, but there it is in an illiterate headline by the BBC. Cemented her image as an absolute tool? Yeah.

In 2018 I was working in private practice and was on maternity leave. I was invited to the office Christmas party. In the taxi, on the way home, the Managing Partner stuck his tongue in my mouth. I called my line manager (whose mobile number I had) and immediately reported it. (2)

That shouldn’t be my guilt to carry. My (male) line manager should carry that. He told me he couldn’t fight for me because the Managing Partner would pick on him and he just wanted to retire quietly. Men, do better. Call out shit behaviour. Support women. Believe women. (6)

I was too young to be aware if America went through an ecstasy-hysteria phase in the 90s at the same time we did? My sense is that was a largely tabloid-driven thing, which is another power dynamic we have going on that’s dissimilar to America. If the public, when polled, are in favour of

Yeah this is so strange! America and its *huge* Christian conservative tradition have largely legalised weed, but it’s still not even open for discussion here and considered political suicide.

Our friend, who was running late to a meal and flustered, text the group chat “Can you send me a picture of the menu please?”. I replied:

I wonder if Wayne and Coleen Rooney are wondering what life choices led to them sitting next to the world’s premier American author of crime thrillers set in England who has no interest at all in how life or speech in England differs from America.

I often remember David Mitchell saying he was opposed to the name Peep Show because it sounded seedy and misleading, but of course ultimately the name of a thing doesn’t matter much because it soon just becomes the name of the thing. There are too many over-thought and over-written names in fiction.

I think it's absolutely mad that today there's a *national news story* about 400 oil platform workers losing their jobs, and the government being blamed. 25% of the UK TV industry lost their jobs in the last 4 years and we never hear a peep about it! Some jobs are 'real jobs' I guess.

I think when you are Ed Sheeran, you are probably raised to see being a mega pop star as a respectable upper middle-class profession, like being an MP or a bishop. Sure it’s a bit WILD but ultimately you hope granny likes your songs. Fans are customers.
