When a word is "captured" and is conflated and contorted for ideological propaganda, there's always a loss of meaning. It's inevitable. Can it recover from the cesspit of extremism? Who knows. e.g., The conflation of master race and Aryans. Who were the Aryans...(not so white Indo-Iranians culture).
