Absolutely. I'd add Jethro Tull to that list too. Their box sets are amongst some of the very best I own. Both for content and price. I just don't understand how The Beatles (and solo) have got it so wrong over the last few years.

Ed Friz @eddesrecords.bsky.social · 09/10/2026

The Beatles premium is getting to be too much. Especially when you see what other artists are releasing. The Who By Numbers set at the end of the month has much more content than RS set & is so much cheaper. This Lennon set is probably only showing sold out as reached its limit for free shipping.

Ed Friz @eddesrecords.bsky.social · 09/10/2026

To be honest, I'm amazed. £152 is a ludicrous price for 4 Blu-rays and a book.

Ed Friz @eddesrecords.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

Yes, you can see why he didn't bother to develop it any further, can't you?!

Ed Friz @eddesrecords.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

I too can't bring myself to buy it, & I'd usually be a day 1 buyer. I don't need another mono copy & I'm not particularly interested in the US version. I'm sure I'll pick up the vinyl boxset at some point but it'll have to come down in price quite a way first.

Thanks for the updates. It's not a deal breaker to be honest as I'm going to order it from you guys regardless. 😊

Now spinning The Who Live San Francisco 1971

Ed Friz @eddesrecords.bsky.social · 04/09/2026

Just seen it's gone live today - the photo shows the 4 prints that were showing as exclusive to The Who store but they not are mentioned in the description. Can I just check if they are included please?

Ed Friz @eddesrecords.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

Fantastic! I'll keep an eye out on the site for it going live.

Ed Friz @eddesrecords.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

@burningshed.com are you going to be stocking The Who By Numbers deluxe set? I know it was only announced today but if you are I'll hold off ordering it until you have it listed. 😊

Got mine on order from you lovely people. I've not heard this album before so very much looking forward to my first listen. Although I'm going on holiday on the 14th so hopefully postie will arrive before we set off......😬

Any Macca fans know anything about this? Is it a straight reissue or a remaster? Very tempted as my only copy is (bizarrely) from Yugoslavia... @stevenc63.bsky.social @parlogram.bsky.social

Maybe my favourite extras of any of the Tull booksets are on War Child. Paradise Steakhouse, Good Godmother & Sealion II are particular highlights. I love the War Child II LP for the same reason. Any band that has this calibre of songs unreleased for so long has to be special #JethroJuly

Well I am a sucker for a good box set so maybe if I see it in a used record shop somewhere I'll pick it up.....

010

Ed Friz @eddesrecords.bsky.social · 07/07/2026

Would you say there's any value in getting this set if you have most of the booksets? (Just missing the incredibly expensive TOTRNR and Stormwatch)...

Ed Friz @eddesrecords.bsky.social · 03/07/2026

I know the TAAB2 show wasn't really Tull but 🤷

Ed Friz @eddesrecords.bsky.social · 03/07/2026

I first saw Jethro Tull in 2006 having never really heard them before and I loved it. The next time was on the TAAB2 tour & again I thought it was fab. I think TAAB may be my favourite album of theirs. I was lucky enough to see Ian by the stage door after the show and he signed my cd #JethroJuly

Cracking service once again from @burningshed.com with the new Jethro Tull bookset arriving 2 days before release day. Looks great alongside the others...Now if Stormwatch and Too Old To Rock N Roll could be reissued that would be great 🤞

It's lovely to hear them both together and having fun. I'll also add that since listening to it I've had Knicker-Elastic King by The Rutles going round my head....

Yeah it was brilliant wasn't it. I've always liked Driving Rain so it was nice to hear it get some love for a change. It often seems to be overlooked or low down in lists of his best albums but for me, it's definitely in the top 10.

Incredibly moving song and 100% in agreement with you, it's exactly the sort of thing I want to hear from Macca. Really hoping the album has more of these reflective, understated type of tracks. Got my order in and roll on the 29th of May!

Bob Dylan 'The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan' This contains the original tracklist before it was changed. Original copies of this album are incredibly rare & sell for thousands. This alas is not one of those but a recent Record Store Day reissue.
