You know what isn’t running low? Sunshine, wind, tides - now is the time to electrify everything and power it with renewables- cleaner, more secure energy at a lower cost

Enough of this dependency on poisonous, climate changing, destabilising form of energy - let’s sprint to electrify and power it all with secure, clean renewables and batteries

So, there’s been no arrests of these men violently assaulting a woman on camera and none of the masked men who blocked the Port of Dover - if they’d been climate change or Palestine protesters I suspect a different response

Imagine the good that could be achieved with a full UK transition to renewably powered electric transport (plus much more active travel) heating and industry? Less pollution, illness, energy insecurity and cost to consumers

People can feel effects of climate crisis, now is best possible moment to announce doubling down on Net Zero with full electrification powered by renewables and batteries built and maintained by UK’s post industrial towns - lower pollution/bills and greater energy security/quality jobs

We’ve been fully electric (cooking, heating, car) for two years all powered by our solar panels and 100% renewable tariff - lower bills, pollution and better quality of life (house is warmer in winter)

Along with apparent ‘drill baby drill’ this is terrible - immoral, no economic sense and politically stupid as Labour has lost twice as many voters to left parties than right

A few people campaigning / focus grouping in Makerfield have told me that even Reform supporters have brought up that Farage going against the wishes of Nowak's family made them uneasy. So these statements are both brave and important.

All (online, print and broadcast) publishers should be held to same legal standard - no inciting hatred and violence, no contempt of court and libel, restrictions on porn. Banning under 16s will fail (kids will get round it) and lets social media off the hook pushing responsibility on families

And yet the government has frozen fuel duty escalator again subsidising wealthier polluters and losing billions that could be used to promote walking, cycling and electric public transport

Seems like the ideal day to call for scrapping Net Zero as Tony Blair has. Instead let’s become the first major industrialised country to get there creating a compelling example, quality jobs, improving air quality, reducing bills and increasing energy security in process

Online publishers should be made legally responsible for their content just as print and broadcast media publishers are. Curtailing children’s rights rather than holding publishers to account is immoral and will fail

Fuel duty escalator’s not been used most of years it’s been in place costing Treasury billions it could have spent switching away from polluting, energy insecure and dangerous forms of transport

Precisely this…by banging on about how awful immigration is Labour have sent voters to reform and, twice as many, to Greens, Lib Dems, Plaid and SNP - it’s a 0 % strategy designed to appeal to no-one

Sometimes people argue that smaller countries make such a tiny contribution to climate change that their changes are pointless - but apart from reducing pollution and energy insecurity they also show larger polluters you can switch and enjoy a high standard of living

Over 85% over UK power currently coming from cheap, clean, secure, home made energy- let’s keep building and maintaining renewable capacity, adding storage and electrifying and we can reduce bills, pollution and insecurity whilst creating meaningful skilled jobs

In wind turbines, solar panels, batteries, pumped storage, bicycles, electric trains and other vehicles, heat pumps and other tech we have the means to stop climate change, energy insecurity and air pollution

82% of Britain’s electricity is currently zero carbon. This is an incredible achievement of which we should be rightly proud and motivated to go further, faster. Instead, we’ve got fossil fuelled politicians telling us we should be focusing on 93% depleted North Sea oil & gas.

Renewably powered full electrification is the answer to so many problems. Not easy or cheap in short term but easier and cheaper than continuing with worsening climate change and global energy crises

Only about a quarter of UK electricity is generated from gas - time to break link between volatile gas price and electricity cost to consumer and triple down on switch to domestic renewables, energy storage and electrification of power and transport

The additional cost of ONE fossil fuel price spike on the scale of 2022 = the ENTIRE COST of Net Zero by 2050. We get precisely nothing in return for the first cost, and a whole new, more secure and cheaper energy system from the second one. #NoBrainer www.theccc.org.uk/2026/03/11/c...

Down to 16% in polls, driving twice as many voters to parties to left than right, losing Caerphilly to Plaid and Denton to Greens. Are Labour determined to get to 0% and deprive economy of desperately need workers? No moral, economic or political sense at all

In 2015 the King’s Fund called swingeing cuts to public health the ‘falsest of false economies’ - it was part of austerity that impoverished people and their services and has ended here: shorter healthy lives and more cost just as was predicted
