From today’s hike. And with that, good night. ~•~ Fruited Balloonpod Milkvetch (Astragalus whitneyi) with lupine, daggerpod, mariposa lily and paintbrush on a high elevation ridgeline. 🌿

A type of milkvetch wildflower that has gone to fruit. The fruit are semi-transparent pods with red tiger stripes. There are many other wildflowers on the ridge.

I just visited Toledo for the first time. It's an amazing place! Beautiful and historic! But for some reason they let cars roam all over it and park everywhere. You literally have to flee into door openings to get out of their way.

New park in my hood that is important for two reasons: It provides new landscaping around a 1000-year-old farmhouse (Torre del Fang, seen covered in graffiti), and it's the first little bit of what will eventually be a 2.5 mile long park extending to the Besòs river. beteve.cat/societat/est...

On Fridays, kids and parents hop on their bikes and join the bicibús, or bike bus, traveling to three schools along its route. It promotes bike safety and environmentally friendly transportation.

They've just planted some pretty huge trees at the new park that's going in 'round the corner. Their trunks look to be about 24" diameter. To the left is a thousand-year-old farm house (Torre del Fang) and background is a garden folly by Calatrava.
