First, it almost never saw the light of day. Now, we have to wait until 2099 to get the 4k.

I stumbled onto this and was ready to pull out my wallet. Turns out it's AI :( I've been vocal about the need for Can't Buy Me Love to get an upgrade many times. While both movies only have DVD releases, at least Loverboy has an anamorphic widescreen release. CBML only has full-screen releases!

As a programmer who understands AI tech at a low level, and has seen it go from intern to CTO in an insanely short period of time, I say to screenwriters that think it can never understand story, structure, emotion, etc - give it time. I don't endorse it. I'm just saying it's coming, unfortunately.

This is a really cool resource for screenwriters. @gointothestory.bsky.social has released an eBook detailing every spec script sale from 1991-2025 - 2,560 individual listings with details. It's currently free, but supporting them via Patreon is always welcome: www.patreon.com/GoIntoTheSto...

A year later, I go back to my 1st screenplay. Halfway through mapping it out. It's obvious. The timing is all wrong at the beginning. Then the movie picks up. I really like it! I thought I'd hate it. Honestly happy because, with some tweaks, it has serious potential. It's very sweet, and funny!

@davidkrumholtz.bsky.social We can finally hang out now that you're regular dude instead of celebridude. I completely understand the feeling. You work for decades in an industry and you burn out. I'm there too. Should you be reading, best of luck in whatever you decide to do.

I'm reading Blacklist screenplays. Movies I've got no preconceived notions about. I read 2 of them - really enjoy them. ah yes, this must be the opposite of how people feel when they read my stuff. Then I read a 3rd. 20 pages in. This. sucks. This must be how people feel when they read my stuff.

Throwback to my DVD/Blu-Ray/4K room a few years ago. At the time there would have been a few thousand items in the collection. It has since grown by 1,000 (or 2). Unfortunately I no longer have the room to display it so these days everything is in tubs. It was good while it lasted.

Movies like Can't Buy Me Love, Idiocracy, What About Bob?, White Chicks, and a million others don't have a 4K or even a Blu-Ray release, but someone has decided SPIKE OF BENSONHURST is worthy of an upcoming 4K. What world is this?

I completed the game Horace today, and got over 1,000,000 pieces of junk collected. Took me a little over 18 hours. As an occasional arcade gamer that doesn't spend more than a few minutes on a game, I feel like I've wasted a little over 18 hours of my life. But I finished it and you didn't. Nerr.

Variety is reporting Harold & Kumar 4 is on track and "Everybody's back". People may remember him as that guy from that movie with the Santa and the Clausing, but @davidkrumholtz.bsky.social as Goldstein will forever be his best role, so I'm looking forward to this.

News of a Britney Spears biopic script so I think "I wonder if that will bring back the WNTTAB podcast" I go to wnttab.com and get an open source link shortener, which is the strangest domain squatting I've ever seen (and the reason for this post).

Animal Crackers (1930): Mark it fragilly. F-R-A-G... Look it up, Jamison, it's in the dictionary. Look under "fragile." That's 53 years before the joke was plagiarized and made popular in A Christmas Story (1983).

I just saw the #MARCHintosh hashtag, which I guess is related to Mac computers. Why wasn't #MAYcintosh used instead? This way it would've kinda sounded like Macintosh. If I had a time machine and it could only be used once, this is what I'd go back and fix.

Me to wife: I've got an idea for a new movie. Wife: No. Your next movie is going to be a guy. He's at home on his computer, and then a series of events. And it's action, and a thriller. Like John Wick. So I have my next movie. A guy who does something and then a series of action packed events.

I'm about 20% into a new script. I've got all the beats planned. There's a crucial bit that moves the story along that I was proud of when I noted it down. Funny stuff. I'm watching the new Naked Gun movie. THAT BIT APPEARS IN THE MOVIE! WTF?! At least it confirms that I can write Hollywood humor.

Every 6 months or so, my TV will randomly raise the volume to double the regular level. No clue why. It just raised it right as Jennifer Aniston said the words "the ass" so that's nice.
