Man I have been in a rut of both reading AND writing since February. HOWEVER I need to start working on Mardi Gras stuff so follow me at @tea-time-t for that.

Just pre-ordered the newest MurderBot novel by @marthawells.com. Not sure how to wait until May...

Cover art for upcoming Martha Wells book Platform Decay, the 8th book in the Murderbot Diaries series. The art shows Murderbot possibly transiting a passageway within a spaceship. Murderbot is gripping an orange ladder moving along the grey walls of the passageway. There is a window behind it showing stars in space, and it appears to be in a "zero-G" environment.

have had to tell a few people that non-binary people can be masc-presenting. that this kind of gatekeeping disqualifies a lot of amab bodies. this kind of discussion puts qualifiers on who gets to be non-binary and it's gross.

I said I would paint another one—a pulp scifi cover for Murderbot on Apple TV! Based on the novels by @marthawells.com 🪐

First two eps of Murderbot were a lot of fun. Looking forward to the rest of the season. It's fun to have a weekly series to look forward to.

Incredibly stoked about the Murderbot show tonight. Pity I have to work instead of writing fic all day.

there is a silent unwritten rule in fandom that you don’t show real life actors associated with a franchise fanfic/fandom and they as people associated with canon do not acknowledge it. let’s bring that back yeah?

Probably one of my favourite Murderbot memes (which I’ve made) #murderbot #TMBD #murderbotdiaries #murderbotmemes

“Murderbot’s internal monologue: This is annoying. This conversation is annoying, this person is annoying. I hope I'm hiding it well. Murderbot's face:”

ppl who havent read the books complaining about murderbot looking like a human as if that is not one of the main points of its character. It's "human-passing" for a narrative purpose and it has a lot of issues with its own personhood. Read the books!!!

exceprt from Artificial Condition by Martha Wells
I looked at myself in the mirror for a long time.

I told myself I still looked like a SecUnit without armor, hopelessly exposed, but the truth was I did look more human. And now I knew why I hadn’t wanted to do this.

It would make it harder for me to pretend not to be a person.

excerpt from Exit Strategy by Martha Wells
(“I don’t want to be human.”

Dr. Mensah said, “That’s not an attitude a lot of humans are going to understand. We tend to think that because a bot or a construct looks human, its ultimate goal would be to become human.”

“That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.”)

The Murderbot trailer looks cool! Here's a bunch of art I've drawn of it over the years.

Moving all my fandom stuff over to this account to keep it separate from main. I mostly read/write Danny Phantom, DC comics, DnD/Baldur's Gate stuff right now.
