Agree entirely. Here's Charlie Brooker in 2007 on the TV version of call-in radio. Unfortunately spot on.

I can't read the Telegraph article (am not prepared to pay them in cookies and certainly not £). Anyway, hasn't @chrisdillow.bsky.social been writing about this for several years? - see chrisdillow.substack.com/p/in-defence... . Quid pro quo - cut back severely on tax relief for private pensions.

Perhaps. But maybe there is another way - the EU is probably a regulatory super power. Outside of retaliation, there is a case to regulate tech industries better (Cory Doctorow?). See this from @dianecoyle1859.bsky.social at www.enlightenmenteconomics.com/blog/index.p...

I have not read that but "Savage Continent" by Keith Lowe covers this period describing similar mayhem. Here www.washingtonindependentreviewofbooks.com/bookreview/s... is a somewhat critical review of the book.

QT has had its time. It is a generator of heat not light. Just over a week ago, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation announced the end of its similar TV programme called Q&A after 18 years www.abc.net.au/news/2025-06... . The article says they are promoting alternatives for wider engagement.
