Drawn on top, and making a rather crowded scene, are 24 of my Friend folk. Simple black and white figures wearing a wide variety of festive headgear (Santa hats, reindeer antlers, Christmas tree hats). One on the right holds a placard with the number 24 on it. One sits on a sleigh with a knitted chicken in the distance behind the stable. One lies on top, the bobble of their hat dangling down. The others stand to the sides of the stable, and inside at the back, with some sitting on the rock and the front edge of the stable.

It's all quite busy, but they all hope you have a lovely few days, whether or not you celebrate, and whatever you are doing. And so do I.

Probably a niche audience for this one, but I reckon the fact that this has really tickled me since it popped into my head should be sufficient proof of age for the Online Safety Act. But no. Bah.

An edited version of the 1980s Maxell casset ad with the 'blown away man'. In the ad a man sits low in an arm chair facing a speaker, with hair & necktie being blown back by the sound. The lampshade and glass next to him are also being blown back. I have made some rudimentary changes so the figure can be read more easily as a woman (much longer hair being blown back, some changes to clothing) and replaced the speaker with a large rotating cooling fan. The slogan has changed from "maxell - it's worth it" to "menopause - is it hot in here?

A square close up photo of a rusty old nut and bolt type thing (I'm not much of a DIY-er but I think that's what it is, it was taken in a Maritime Museum so was presumably once held bits of a ship together). The main body is hexagonal in two parts, I have presented the split between the two parts as a mouth, added teeth and a lolling out tongue, and added eyes above. The bolt sticks out through the top, like an odd little round hat with lines running round it.

I'm not a big action movie person, but I would watch the shit out of this #MyfanwyAndFriend (yes, I am ignoring things and living in my own wee world at the moment, it feels sensible)

This has been stuck in my head since reading all the rubbish about how US businesses are pre-caving in to their new orange overlord and running away, like the pathetic creatures they are, from any semblance of decency. Needed to shake it out on to the screen to move on to something nicer.

A sprig of Ramalina (sea ivory) lichen peeks up from behind a grey rock covered in encrusting white and orange lichen. The Ramalina is a wild shock of very pale creamy-green tendrils. I have added googly eyes to it, half hidden by the rock, and hands grabbing on, so it looks like it is peering cautiously at the world beyond.

The Treachery of Images, chicken edition #MyfanwyAndFriend

The chicken itself is standing beyond the easel, posing for the simple, digitally drawn figure who is standing in front of the easel with a teal tinged paint brush. Insightful commentary innit.
