Is it too much of a stretch to think there being a character named ‘buddy’ in coyote vs acme could be an animal man reference? Or am I going full pepe silvia

very cute!! if I can give feedback, you've got a handful of accessibility issues - you've definitely used some very small, low contrast, light-weight fonts that really impact readability. Tying font size to vh but not having a min size is not great, in a small little window the text is micro

Screenshot of Mei-li's site in the browser window I happened to use for it, the game platform text is micro

Not to be the guy who’s only seen boss baby but I’m literally reading House of Leaves at the same time as This Year and today’s song and especially annotation in This Year had me thinking I was reading House of Leaves again for a sec.

Photo of today’s page of This Year for the song ‘the house that dripped blood’ - “There's this famous scene in the Agamemnon of Aeschylus, the "car-pet scene," lines 783-974. Agamemnon, returning triumphant from Troy, is invited by Clytemnestra to enter his house via the red carpet which is not actually a carpet but elaborate and expensive robes spread on the floor). Agamemnon resists-"To trample ornate beauty is / For me a thing I'd be afraid to do" (tr. Andrew Wilson) —but only for a page or two, and then tramples the ornate robes right into the house of Atreus, which will devour him, because those aren't rugs or robes, they're the hungry tongues of Tantalus. The house in Tallahassee isn't a palace in Argos, but it still has an appetite. In its original draft, this was called "Blood Song," and while I'm usually not too” (page ends here)

How I am reading this year and listening to the accompanying song, which is on an iPad mini sitting on top of my copy of house of leaves

I completed a pretty small number of videogames this year, a couple I played a lot but are still in progress (hades II and death stranding II) so I can't comment yet. Probably my most played game this year was synth riders. But these are the manageably-sized mostly narrative games I finished

I’ve been reading Hellblazer and I am at peace with the fact hat for a comic that has run this long, different creative teams will change the tone and characterisation repeatedly. But I cannot forgive this writer for deciding John can DRIVE if he really needs to

I doodled this when the tempopo demo was out but the upcoming release date got me to finish it. It’s out in like nine days!

Comic featuring Hana (cute black girl with a conductors baton) and a group of Tempopo (little pink plant creatures) standing near a ledge. Hana says ‘I appreciate how much you trust in my conducting, but I worry about your self preservation instincts’ to the Tempopo. In the next panel she starts counting off, gesturing to the right with her baton - ‘you jump into spikes, you let yourself get chomped, you-‘ then on the final panel, the Tempopo have followed her baton gestures and jumped off the ledge - Hana yells ‘THIS IS WHAT I MEAN!!’

Podzilla (podcast about monster movies) has had me come back every year to do a new season artwork for them and they are so lovely to work with. This season's artwork idea was really fun. #art

"Podzilla" in large text over a cartoony illustration of two podcast hosts in a Jeep fleeing from a T-rex based on the chase scene from Jurassic Park. The T-rex is right behind them but they are too busy podcasting to care. The host on the left (Mykah) is dressed as Jeff Goldbum's character in his icon open-shirt pose and the host on the right (Jasher) is dressed as Sam Neil's character.

joining the posting old #art train - this is a map I did for #dragonfriends streams that I still really like. A unique map of the DF version of Waterdeep. I think my fav part was actually making the silly unique labels for each region.

A fantasy map based on Waterdeep from Dungeons and Dragons. The name has been crossed out and replaced with "Slaughterdeep".

The map is divided into regions each with defined borders and whimsical labels - Toff Lane, The Hate, the Guildhalls, the Wide, the Quarter Arcana, the Coffinsmarch, the Swoops, Charcoal Flats, the Shipline, The Beggar's Court. Each region has a 2-3 cartoony buildings drawn in it. All the classics are there, a wizard university, a ruined castle, the slums, things like that. The compass rose includes an illustration of Bushu the dragon and the label that indicates the relative location of Daggerford shows Crawford the pelican.
