My cat likes my new sleeping pad for bikepacking. I have a Durston tent and poles on order to replace the Amazon tent I’ve been using. I justify these purchases by telling myself that if I ever have to bug out, I will be comfortable.

On average, the stories I accept have amassed 6 rejections before they're submitted to FF. (A surprising (to me) number of these were sent to FF as their first or second stop, which I appreciate, but chase that big money, folks!) Lines up pretty close to the average in the Grinder's thread! 2/

I’m relieved to announce that I have finally wrapped up the ninth draft of my sequel and sent the manuscript off to my editor. I think I could keep chipping away at things to improve, but I feel like I’ve taken it as far as I can go on my own and need a fresh set of eyes on it.

I bought some vintage dishware to make slip casts of their bodies, make approximations of how much clay to use while hand building, and also have an idea of how large the copied forms should be. Breaking out the high school geometry notes to measure radius, height, and angle 📐 #pottery #handbuilding

Went to a group ride on Saturday expecting to do 25-28 miles, and didn’t want to crash out. Could not figure out where else to put it, and it didn’t fit in my stem bag. #cycling

Took a day off work to have a personal office day: got a haircut, put in an application to get my car title, cleaned my cat’s litter box, and gave my cat a much needed bath, cleaned bathroom, did laundry, made plaster molds out of some thrift store dishes for pottery hand building….

Latest, "In My Country," out today. Written last year and seemed more abstract/allegorical then, but things keep changing. Hope in a few months or years it seems like inscrutable nonsense (more than usual anyway) because we've changed course but who knows. I don't.

I went to a Thursday group ride for the first time, rode for three times as long as I expected to, was perpetually last, and probably swallowed a bug as I wheezed up a hill. But met a lot of fine folk who I’ll ride with again next week.
