Yeah, it's a philosophy rather than a system. e.g. Thirsty Sword Lesbians has a Magical Girl playbook. Glitter Hearts is a Magical Girl specific PbtA game. You cannot just take a TSL Magical Girl and drop her into Glitter Hearts, it won't work. Too many differences in the actual games.

Even the relatively high-crunch PbtA games like Avatar focus on story role rather than fight mechanics in their playbooks. There isn't a Firebender playbook, Firebending is just a combat technique you can choose for your character. "The Legacy" can be a bender, a warrior, an inventor, or whatever.

The playbook system makes it easy to fit to a specific setting, as it's not just the stats, it's also the goals and tropes. You can take a 5e class and tweak it to fit the source material, but the more different the source is from 5e expectations the more work you have. Playbooks are easier.

If God had really not wanted "race mixing," we wouldn't be interfertile, and the so-called races would actually behave more like incompatible species. If He really wanted us to stay separate, travel between continents would be functionally impossible, not something that's always happened.

Ben is pretty sure I started a few weeks before he did, late 96 or early 97. Of course, he had a big downtime at one point, where none of mine have been more than a few hours as I moved files to new machines. There are parts of my TF site that haven't been significantly updated in over 20 years.

I only have a picture of the dino mode, although the chocobo is similar (lift the "rear legs" up to be wings). However, it's a static GIF, BlueSky can't deal with it (back around 2000, GIF was just another image format, animated GIFs were brand new). I guess a screenshot will work.

He was just trying to get Smith to lie under oath so they could charge him with perjury. Doesn't matter the lie, but this one could've led to more juicy things if he really had been in Atlanta. If Smith had "admitted" to meeting Fani, they probably had another prop ready.

In any field of entertainment, being good isn't enough. It may not even be NECESSARY sometimes. Being good can get them coming back, but getting them in the first place is a lot more about some combination of hard work and sheer luck (like having something ready that fits the zeitgeist RIGHT NOW).
