I remember when a comically exaggerated rate of trans kids was self reported, and mainstream outlets were confused about that one too.

watching Bengals film and it's clear the offense has zero plan other than banking on Burrow/Chase/Higgins out talenting their opponents in that specific rep. After 7 years it's inexcusable for ZT to not have an offensive scheme.

How do people even use Codex? absolute worst CLI tool ive ever used. im sitting here split screen and the open source models cant catch Sol's scope creep no matter how hard they try.

devine_dusty.py @dustyschmidt.bsky.social · 20/09/2026
No one watching thinks Chase didn't catch that ball but let's see the replay anyways to search for an arbitrary technicality

It's for this that I think the reflexive pushback against anthropomorphism of technology in general is often counterproductive.

Sure you can say it's not walking it's <insert literal descriptions of whatever physical process are causing the robot to do the thing mimicking human walking> but that gate keeps the conversation and makes it incredibly clunky to talk about.

devine_dusty.py @dustyschmidt.bsky.social · 20/09/2026
You can watch a humanoid robot walk down a runway and simultaneously describe it as "walking" while understanding that it's not operating the same way, or with the same physical tools, as a human being walking. It's not that difficult I don't think

Again: what we’re doing here is defining “understanding” as “the thing that humans do.” If a model is accurately absorbing new information, solving unsolved problems of incredible difficulty, engaging in detailed back-and-forths, but is not “understanding,” the word “understanding” has no meaning.

DFS suits my mental style much better, gives the freedom to take nights or weeks off, or to just simply worry about the Sunday/Monday games.

devine_dusty.py @dustyschmidt.bsky.social · 18/09/2026
I found that I stopped wanting to do season long once Thursday night games became a full time thing. It's not in itself a massive obstacle but it basically moved lineup tinkering and setting to a full week process, and I routinely forgot to set lineups.

Imo it's simply a case of majority of people feel like they're getting the shaft in this late stage capitalism, and the understanding that the math just isn't matching regardless of what they do.. not that complicated
000
devine_dusty.py @dustyschmidt.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
Were at an actual inflection point. Surely you HAVE to have something better to add to the discussion besides semantic finger wagging from the peanut gallery.

devine_dusty.py @dustyschmidt.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
I still have yet to see any benefit to the all out resistance to "anthropomorphism" of machines. It serves to purpose other than making the conversation clunky and gatekeeping, and if that's the first thing you bring to the discussion table, no one will give a shit what else you have to say.
