During the Darlene Love interview on CBC yesterday, this song was mentioned as one that could never be played in her home when she was growing up. It's a great song. Hank Ballard. He wrote "The Twist." The record co put it on a B-side Chubby Checker ran with it a year later youtu.be/2iqk2rtpj0M?...

On positive notes, I've returned all my office equipment to its home, purposely avoiding my manager and leaving it with a very responsible person at the front desk. My last work related contact with my employer will now be a written online exit interview. 7/7

Not quite 2 weeks after Telus lines were back, copper thieves cut them again, but this time it was only a week without. I'm still waiting for that reimbursement. Meanwhile Telus has asked for permission to dig up our yards for upgrades to lines. I think I need just a little break first. 6/

So, 13 days of no TV or internet, thanks to copper thieves cutting the lines in the construction zone throughout my neighbourhood (speaking of patience). Anyway, I'm still waiting for the fun part and the ability to move in whichever ways I feel like so I can rearrange everything in my home. 5/

What can happen if I'm not careful? This muscle called a diaphragm that makes our lungs work can seize up to where I can only take very shallow breaths and it's very painful. It's happened 2x in the past. Not this time, but I've had to restrict my movements. Luckily patience is a virtue I have. 4/

... ethernet cable for a longer one and dismantled my work laptop and accessories to be returned to the office. These things, especially done while tense, were not good for my back. Of course the worst of it was felt when I tried to get up in the morning, and I've had to be careful since then. 3/

... for 13 days, while I was still tweaking my pension app on the most user unfriendly site ever, I was so frustrated. I pulled my modem out of its very awkward hiding spot, then decided to pull a table away and vacuum the dust back there, all while on hold with Telus. I also swapped out the 2/

Who knew retiring was such a process? I have an issue with my back, since birth, and need to keep a certain level of fitness without straining that part of my back too much. Being chained to a desk all day is one of the worst things for it. When the Telus outage occurred on August 13th, 1/

Regarding Smith's contention about having to build new schools due to temporary residents in Alberta, we've had severe budget cuts to education for several years and building new schools that were necessary several years ago has been on a back burner for years. I guess she hopes we've all forgotten.

I'd say these "guest workers" spend a lot of money while they're working here, so it's actually quite the opposite. Am I right? I'll read this to find out.

It's amazing how many things I have to do on my way to my official retirement date at the end of the month. I almost forgot I still have a good chunk of money in my health spending account to use before then. My dental work was minimal this year, so I I'll just buy a second pair of glasses.

The copper thieves are at it again. 2 days and counting with no internet or TV. And just when I finally have a lot of time for both. With all their revenue, you would think Telus could hire a security guard to drive around the construction area. Pathetic.

I'm retired officially at the end of September, but I'm never going back. Luckily I got my internet back after a 13-day outage due to copper thieves. I was missing some information on my pension app, and needed internet to fix it. I can't wait to unwind and start catching up on my own life.

As if it weren't bad enough that several blocks in my neighborhood have been under construction for a while, now we have internet due to thieves taking cable from the sites to mine copper to sell on the black market. Everything I do now is using up data. Telus says they'll compensate everyone. Day 4
