Hi! I’m a consultant in public health (interests - loads but mostly data) I also love music - I play in a band called Falling & Laughing and put on a sporadic night called The Autumn Store. Plus board games, computer games, astronomy and other stuff.

The first album I ever bought was You Need a Mess of Help to Stand Alone by Saint Etienne - so I’m excited to see them in Birmingham on their farewell tour tonight. Sad, but they’ve certainly been consistently great over the years!

Football everywhere, so worth saying that’s two wins in two for the England Women’s cricket team in the T20 World Cup. Ireland played well and there were def some wobbly moments where the match could have gone the other way. Hope that Nat Sciver-Brunt is ok after retiring on 48.

Next Falling and Laughing gig is on Thursday (14th May) at the Victoria in Birmingham. We’re playing with Appi who have come all the way from Kyoto and who have just released a frankly brilliant dream pop album. And then Pink Opaque, for their Brum debut too! www.skiddle.com/whats-on/Bir...

In genuinely exciting news, Falling and Laughing are going to Edinburgh to play the Indiepop Alldayer in October. The line up was incredible last year and I have no doubt it will be this year, it’s a real privilege to be playing. Tickets here tickets-scotland.com/events.html?...

My album of the week (if I did such things) would certainly be Spacejunk Solarpunk by Falling & Laughing, which i just LOVE - songs which shift textures, fracture & swing beneath choirboy vocals - evolving spaces, yet the songs are brilliant. Currently playing the epic ‘The Band Got Out of Hand’
