Usually the AI customer service chatbots are annoying but basically functional. I feel like they just plugged in a commercially available LLM while giving it none of the access/training it needed. It was just vanilla chat gpt that told me the wrong thing a dozen different ways.

I asked it to close my autobilling account instead and that was the only way it connected me to a human agent. That human agent couldn’t even see the chat logs from the AI and was flippant and dismissive when I wanted to send them the logs.

It straight up told me the only way to adjust my payment schedule was to allow my bank account to overdraft and then call support, after it hallucinated a whole menu that didn’t exist in the app.

Payroll changed so I’ve spent a couple hours adjusting all of my auto billing. Half of that was spent texting with a single AI bot that was straight up hallucinating settings I could access in my app and then contradicting itself before telling me what I wanted to do was impossible.
